“3 Star Hotel needs updating to claim its 4 star status.”

Well the first thing I'd like to say is if you go five star hotel you expect everything to be perfect, so you'd expect a four star to be close to perfect. This hotel is very clean and the staff are amazing, very polite and welcoming. The hotel has some great facilities unfortunately most of these were not being used or were closed including the Spa and the indoor pool. right the reasons this hotel is far from a four star. The rooms though clean and having a comfortable bed, had loose sockets, the shower constantly ran from hot to cold scolding you one minute freezing you the next. The Loungers were dirty, the balcony though quite large had no facility for drying wet towels or clothing and when having breakfast you have to queue in the morning so one poor staff member has to cook individually for you, oh and you're only allowed one egg. still the food was good with ample fruit options and european breakfast. I'm not going to say my stay here was bad because it wasn't but if you are going to call yourself a four star hotel at least update the hotel. Over all it was a good hotel but I'd say more three star.

Stayed here for four nights last week (May '24) and had a lovely time. Our room was spacious and clean, and the beds were really comfy too. We went bed and breakfast, and the breakfast options were good - loads of fresh fruit, and the usual continental offering - and a cooked breakfast could be made to order on request (no charge). The pool area was nice. The loungers and parasols are a bit dated and could probably do with being replaced, but they are functional, and once they have a towel on them then they're absolutely fine. The hotel was really quiet when we stayed so we got loungers no problem, but there aren't many, so this could be a problem in high season perhaps. The view from the pool area is gorgeous, and theres an extra in pool/bar seating area too. Snacks (toasties, wraps, pizzas) from the snack bar were great, and there seemed to be a big selection of branded drinks. We hired pool towels from reception for 5 euro each, and we swapped them out a couple of times, and got the deposit back no problem when we checked out. The reception staff were fab, always very helpful and friendly - they helped us book an excursion and recommended places to go too. Also, checkout time is midday, which is great! The little shop under the hotel is nice, but very expensive. Unless your desperate for something, you'd be better to walk down to the Spar at the marina and save yourself a lot of money! Would happily go back, had a really good time! As other reviews have said, the hotel is at the top of a steep hill. It's walkable if you're able bodied, but would be a real struggle if you're unfit, or have a pram or wheelchair etc. A taxi from the marina costs about 6 euro, and about 12 euro from the old town. We mostly walked down and taxi'd back, but we did tackle the hill a few times and its not quite as bad as it looks!

“Great staff; amenities lacking .”

Friendly, helpful staff; nice clean rooms and very good food. The breakfasts were great, with lots of fresh fruit; bacon, eggs and sausage cooked in front of you. We especially liked their pizzas for lunch. The hotel is located a 10 min. walk from the beautiful San Rafael beach and a 20 min. walk to the marina - where you will find several decent enough dining options. You can also get a boat trip from here. The old town is a taxi ride away and it has a better variety of dining options. On the flip side, the leisure amenities let it down as a 4* hotel. The area around the outdoor pool is neglected. Weeds have been left to grow and the mix match of old deckchairs need replacing. The water in the pool also isn't heated at all. The neglect of this amenity really takes away from the experience . The spa facility seems to be permanently closed - apart from the indoor pool with a lukewarm water temperature.

The spa was a selling point for us, but the jacuzzi sauna or steam room weren't working and the spa was never open so very disappointing! The outside pool nice and spacious the loungers could do with updating,but work nonetheless. Staff wonderful and friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous. Recommend the prawn risotto and the bruschetta. Not close to any amenities, but bolt about 4e to marina and town. Very quiet area not near anything but 2 beaches.
