“Quite good hotel, great for a short stay”

Our first room smelt damp and the door wouldn’t close once we’d opened it. They switch us to a different room. Buffet restaurant good but expensive for breakfast. A bit out of the way of downtown Albufeira so drive or order an uber. Indoor pool was good, although you had to wear a swimming cap. The live singer that was there one night was very good but the music of any of the live music will go on past 10pm just incase you wanted an early night. Not much bad to say about this hotel, I just couldn’t give it 5 starts

“Return visit, lovely hotel. Spotless”

We have stayed at this hotel a few times, it is a very nice hotel, spotlessly clean. The rooms are very nice, cleaned every day and quite spacious. The location is very nice with a few very nice restaurants within walking distance, I would recommend that you book the restaurants in advance as they are always busy because of their reputation. The food in the hotel is typical hotel quality, we stayed bed and breakfast as the restaurants are far too good to miss. The bar food and the pool bar meals are very good. I would recommend that you use Uber , they are very cheap and usually arrive in minutes, around 5/6 euro from the hotel into the old town. The only downside for us this time was that the hotel has started letting Flair camp us the hotel for a week at a time , basically bar tending training, cocktail making and juggling bottles etc. We found the music far too loud coming from the basement room that they seemed to take over, also they trained beside the pool with music coming from a loud speaker. We always come to this hotel for a quiet peaceful experience but to be honest it felt like the hotel was taken over by Flair camp for a week. In fairness it didn’t bother us too much , some very talented people amongst them and entertaining to watch. It wouldn’t stop us returning to the hotel again, maybe just check Flair camp isn’t staying at the same time. Staff are as usual very nice. Lovely hotel, will return again.

We have had several holidays at the Hotel Baia Grande. All have been good until our recent visit. We had a pool view room with balcony and half board. Unknown to us when we booked our holiday the hotel management have now decided to allow events at the hotel. For a whole week we had a group of 30 or 40 people juggling to very loud music on a daily basis by the pool. This had been prearranged and approved by the hotel management. Many other guests at the hotel had to either put up with this or if they had a car they could go elsewhere for most of the day. We did ask to be moved to another room due to the noise level in our original room and this was organised by management. The food quality whilst freshly cooked or prepared is also not as good as it used to be with some items such a puddings and main courses being repeated on a nightly basis. Less choice. The staff in the restaurant and bar were very helpful and attentive. Evening entertainment in the bar is very good. We are not going to risk another holiday at this location. The management at the hotel need to decide where they are going to position holidays at this hotel. Loud party groups don’t mix well with the family and older age groups which this hotel has traditionally welcomed.

We stayed at the Baia Grande Hotel for 10 days. We found the hotel very clean and all the staff very friendly and helpful. There are only a few minus points. The pool is far too cold, the breakfasts were not very hot, however, they did have a microwave should you wish to heat anything up. We stayed on a B&B basis so can't comment on the evening meals. Certain areas could do with a bit of decorating and some of the older sunbeds could do with being replaced. The hotel was in a quiet area which we preferred. We were glad we were not staying in Albufeira which was very lively and loud.
