We have just come back from this hotel and I have got to say it is one of the best positions in the whole of the Algarve. The hotel is on the top of a rock which has two different different beaches each side of it with beautiful rock formations you can sit on your balcony in the evening and watch the sunset over the sea. You could not ask for a better position from a hotel, The staff at the hotel are super friendly and can’t do enough to help you. The swimming pool is beautiful and overlooks the sea and the beaches. It is large and clean with plenty of sunbeds. The rooms in the hotel are big and clean however do need a little bit of an update , in terms of fixtures and deco. This is the only part that lets the hotel down but in my books you go to the Algar to see the Algarve so you’re not spending that much time in your room as long as you have a nice clean room, clean bathroom and cosy beds that is all that matters and being in the location this hotel is in puts it above all others in the area . We are out so can’t comment on the food but I think this is a great hotel to base yourself at during the day , go out to the old town to eat and be entertained and you have everything you need . Ooh and they have a shuttle bus to the old town which is great news but it does stop at 4.30 but taxis 7 euros so not bad .

Our stay at Auramar Beach Resort in Albufeira was enjoyed by both myself and my partner. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable although I had paid extra for a sea view room, the view of the sea was incredible, but our room was situated at the B block which was right above the staff entrance to the restaurant which had a bin lorry making a lot of noise pretty much every morning emptying the bins. Other than that, our room was lovely, the view of the sea was amazing and the hotel itself was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had booked all inclusive for our trip, the food at the restaurant and snack bar was pretty basic but fresh salad, cold and cooked meats, chips, potatoes and extras were available we enjoyed every meal we had at the hotel. We did find ourselves venturing outside the hotel for some meals as we had been to the new town which is only 10 minutes walk from the hotel, and to the old town which is about 30-45 minutes walk from the hotel, you can walk to the old town either by the road or by walking along the beach and both are beautiful walks. The Old Town is a must see and we spent a lot of our trip there; shopping, drinking, eating, watching football etc. Just beside the main pool area there is a gate that leads to the beach, to the left there is a smaller more private beach which was gorgeous, but had a lot of flies, and to the right was an enormous beach that we walked along to arrive at the old town. Overall our stay at Auramar was good, apart from the bin lorry outside making a lot of noise every morning.
