Lovely hotel with excellent staff who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Pool is great although very cold in January! We were on half board and dinner and breakfast at the buffet restaurant were excellent with a huge choice of food to suit all tastes. We also had lunch at the poolside restaurant which was also very nice and the service here was excellent. The hotel is at the opposite end of the promenade from the marina so quite a walk, or a taxi ride, if you want to visit but taxis are easy and relatively cheap. The only downside of the hotel for us initially was that our room was facing the hotel next door which had renovation work ongoing so the view wasn’t great and it was noisy, however, we raised the issue with the hotel and they moved us to a better room which was great. If you can afford it we would recommend the rooms with balconies or a terrace.

“What has happened to this once wonderful hotel!”

We have been coming to this hotel for 15 years. I don’t know what has happened but this stay was a total disappointment compared to our previous top class stays. Let’s start with the arrival, when we arrived we heard 3 managers surrounding a guest all arguing at the top of their voices. The staff have become so slow and distracted. They can’t seem to focus on guests and there is a lack of leadership, all seem to be working individually, previously there was flow, energy and focus amongst staff. Now, the room, we had 2 rooms, one toilet was blocked on arrival and in the other room, the sink was dirty. We have always loved the delicious breakfasts at this hotel. We counted it as the best breakfast in the world, now the taste and range are good but nothing compared to before. It’s always been a pleasure to swim in the heated pool at this hotel but it was being repaired. There was no mention of this when we booked and no attempts to allow usage at its once sister hotel next door. Likewise there was no mention of the construction work in the hotel on the other side. Our room was next to the hotel and construction work continued into the evening. After 15 years we will be trying another hotel next year, time to move on.
