Just a few things to improve. I had to boil the water in the microwave for my morning tea, also some of the food needed heating in the microwave mainly the soup. The gala evenings were far too busy during the first sitting, both xmas and new year. The second day we were there the lobby bar ran out of gin,vodka and brandy at 22.30 hrs. Overall we enjoyed staying there and hopefully we will return in the near future

“What a gem of a holiday”

Had a short break here at the beginning of December. Check in : Very quick and friendly. Had a short break here at the beginning of December. Check in : Very quick and friendly. No info given on the site so would recommend you download the Riu app. Our luggage arrived at the room at the same time as us. Room : Large, comfortable room. Didn't need to use a/c so can't comment on that. We overlooked the site from our balcony and the beach from our front door. The room was always kept clean with some lovely decoration of towels. The bathroom was large with a lovely shower and plenty of hot water. Food : We always found something to eat. We used the Asian once which made a nice change. There was local food at every sitting but this made a nice change sometimes. The drinks were OK but as with all locally produced spirits they were a it hit and miss. The sangria was always a winner. Staff : The staff at this hotel really make your holiday. Without exception they were very friendly and a bonus was they all spoke good English as our French is minimal and our Moroccan non existent. Often hubby would go to order drinks and be told to sit down and they would bring them over. In the restaurant we found that even if it was busy as long as we could find a table it was re-laid for us promptly. I also found that my wine glass was topped up without having to request it. Entertainment : We didn't take part in any daytime entertainment but did go to a couple of the evening shows. The shows are full of enthusiasm rather than ability but can while away an evening. In conclusion we can't wait to go back. Its a short flight from the UK and in December the weather was pleasant. Definitely a winner

When we arrived in the early afternoon we were placed in a ground floor room. The room looked like it was in need of an update. There were ants on the floor, and flies on the curtains. We could also see squashed flies on the walls with an outline of a flipflop where the previous occupants had squashed them. Our terrace area also overlooked the children's play area, so we were directly across from a climbing gym. We went to reception and after showing them photos we were told after about half an hour we could move to another room. We moved to the second floor but were offered no assistance with our cases unfortunately. The second room also had two single beds pushed together, not ideal for a couple. I'd also note that the air-conditioning was completely ineffective and I'd hate to see how warm you would be in the middle of summer as it was certainly not enough even for November. We called reception to have someone look at it, which they did spend a couple of hours trying to fix, however it did not resolve the problem and we didn't want to waste anymore time waiting in the room. To note our safe did also break which was another call to reception, however this was resolved quickly. There are no kettles in the rooms which I'd say is pretty standard especially for an all inclusive. The hotel grounds were lovely and pool area was nice and big, with no struggle to find sunbeds. The pool could have been somewhat cleaner but it was out of season (November), it was exceptionally cold but I did brace myself for a swim on a few occasions. The food was fine in terms of variety although was often cold and unfortunately I did see ants on the salad and dessert area more than once. We visited the Asian and Morrocan restaurants which were also buffet style unfortunately. The Morrocan was quite enjoyable, however the Asian restaurant was disappointing (and quite confusing- unsure why there was chicken and mash!?). The main restaurant was closed for breakfast and lunch during our stay (unsure if this is seasonal) it did mean that eating breakfast/lunch very much felt like you were in a school dinner hall, cowded and noisy. Plenty of fresh pizza and pasta for the fussy eaters. Very small hot breakfast selection (described as continental) but there was an omelette station. The cocktails were sadly premade and very sugary and were all very similar no matter what you ordered. There were no tables between sunloungers so if you did place your drink on the floor, there would be ants on it within seconds. However the Moroccan tea available at all bars was lovely. The animation team did try their best to get everyone involved, however I did feel they were relentless in asking and would continue to pester even after you politely told them no, with one of the team telling us 'don't be lazy' after we'd already declined. Staff generally were mostly friendly however I was ignored in favour of male guests at the bar on more than one occasion. I also appreciate that a lot of the hotel guests are French, however once establishing we were English I did think it was rude for some members of the animation team to speak French to each other and snigger in front of us. There was lots of security on hand and we felt very safe. There's also an app which you download using the QR code at reception which has some useful information included as well as an area to book the restaurants. Overall it was less then I expected for a 4* hotel and wouldn't return unfortunately. *Outside the hotel* We planned a few excursions out of the hotel which was worth doing: We booked a city tour which included a cable car over the city and a visit to the Kasbah and markets. There was also a visit to an argan oil co-operative (not worth it- they played a ten min YouTube video on how the oil is made & then got snooty if you didn't buy anything). We also visited a local spa for hamam and massage which was lovely (ladies you will be expected to to topless if not naked FYI).
