On 23 January 2020, the new Balearic Law against Tourism Excesses entered into force, which prohibits all-inclusive deals with unlimited alcoholic beverages. Only a maximum of three alcoholic beverages per guest will be served during lunch and/or dinner.
We would also like to inform you of the following restrictions included in the law:
Practices which may endanger the life, health and physical integrity of guests are strictly prohibited at hotels, apartments and holiday properties. These practices include climbing from one balcony or window to another and jumping from inappropriate places such as balconies into swimming pools (a practice widely known as ';balconing';). Guests breaking the law will be immediately banished from the property and may be fined, states the law and the corresponding municipal regulations. The hotel/apartment manager or property agent must order said guests to leave immediately, which may require assistance from the security forces.
Failure to comply with the prohibition of practices which may endanger the life, health and physical integrity of guests will be considered a serious offence. In the Balearic Islands, serious offences are subject to a fine between 6,001 and 60,000 euros.

“Hidden Little Gem”
What a great little intimate spot. Right on the beach. The jungle section is not on the beach and is full of kids activities and such. If you want to be ON the beach then book a junior suite! Food was excellent and staff were friendly and accommodating. Couldn’t ask for more :)

Did you allocate a small amount of money for vacation this year? Look no further than Sunscape Akumal outside of Cancun Mexico. All inclusive resort geared towards families with young children. The resort is lacking many of the amenities of the more prestigious AM brands but the facility and the grounds of Akumal are no less impressive. Beautiful kept and maintained, we were very impressed considering Sunscape’s value reputation. The Staff are great especially the Explorers Club team. Regardless of the resort these ladies are the cream of the crop. My sons love the Club because of how well they are treated and cared for. Nice variety of restaurants. Our favorite was the Mexican cuisine. The downside? Location. While Akumal is beautiful it’s two hours from Cancun International and after traveling all day it’s tough to drive another two before arriving at your final destination. Otherwise, if we’re ever looking for another quick, value vacation, Sunscape Akumal is it.
