This hotel has many good aspects but also many bad. The word luxury needs to be removed from the hotel name. Using the word luxury is false advertising. It may have been luxurious in the past but not so anymore. The hotel is in need of a full refurbishment. It looks tired and dated in comparison to its' sister hotels. It's the first time I've been to an adult only hotel and felt like the poor relation. Now let's get onto the white roller blinds in the room! Whichever interior designer thought they would be a good idea needs sacking!!!!! They are frustrating because there are 6 blinds in total. They are dirty, rusty and don't block the light out properly. I understand they've gone for a minimalist look but they've gone too far. The room looks more like an office than a luxurious boudoir. We had to get maintenance out a few times because we had no hot water. This was usually in the mornings and late evening. There is nowhere to dry anything. There is one towel rail in the bathroom and a hook on the back of the door. No washing line in the shower and no airer on the balcony. I forgot my shower cap and thought ' I'll be ok,you always get one in the bathroom ' but no. The food in the buffet is really tasty with a good choice but it's all cold. I know it's difficult to keep buffet food hot without it ending up overcooked but this was ridiculous. Thankfully the a la carte restaurants were fabulous. The choice of restaurants throughout the whole resort was amazing. We only actually ate in the buffet 3 times throughout our 12 nights. I was underwhelmed by the beach. You absolutely need beach shoes to get into the sea except at the privilege section. That's the best bit of beach but no loungers for those of us in the cheap seats. Loved watching the pelicans fishing. The adult only infinity pool and restaurant right next to it was great. The staff are fantastic. They are so friendly and can't do enough for you. There is very little wildlife here. I loved seeing the array of creatures on my last visit to Mexico so was very disappointed. It sounds like I've not enjoyed my holiday but I have. It's just not been quite what I expected

“Pre Christmas break”

The hotel itself is dated. Activities are few compared to the other hotels, however, it is an adults only hotel so no children crying. The hotel itself is dated. Activities are few compared to the other hotels, however, it is an adults only hotel so no children crying. You do have the ability to go to the other sites and have meals in those restaurants. For us we found those restaurants very nice, however we rarely found the food hot, especially at the buffets. I would like to thank Katia who I did a workout with. Would highly recommend that activity.

We stayed a week at Sian Kaan in mid December as a couple primarily as a golf vacation. We checked in on-line before arrival and were automatically given reservations for the a-la-cartes which we could then modify or cancel through the app which was very handy. We were in a second floor room in block 1 and generally happy with the room. It is a little dated but VERY spacious and was in good shape. Our hot water was slow (had to run taps for a while) but that was our only issue. Air conditioner worked surprisingly well. The food was a little disappointing in terms of quality but we never went hungry. The service was excellent and friendly across the board. The pools are quiet and have plenty of loungers and shade so that was a big positive for us. Overall. we thought the hotel was a good value when compared to similarly priced all-inclusive hotels for people looking for that smaller resort experience and/or proximity to a great golf course.

Returned to this hotel after twice visited in the past several years Check was smooth and requested block 26 was honoured. Our top floor standard room was very dated but everything worked apart from problem with the safe which was quickly fixed. The staircase leading upwards was generally filthy though and definitely needs a proper handrail fitted in the future. The food here generally was good with the best being the lunch selection and some of the Al La Cartes where tasty and some not so with the Steak house on the infinity pool coming out best for us. The Entertainment was decent with a good mixture of music and acts to suite all tastes. The drinks in Mexico are generally weak but we did have a few problems finding a good Rum in some locations but here at the Sian Kaan we did get what we wanted via our favourite barman Randi and genuinely speaking we were happy with the overall selection. This hotel is great for relaxation but has in our opinion now reached the end of the line and desperately need a refurbishment. Once this is done we would return.
