“Best Kids Club”

Karla and Daniela were amazing at the resort's Kids Club. Our 8 year old daughter had so much fun with them! Her favorite activity was the pinata making and pinata party afterwards. They were very kind and dedicated to being sure our daughter had a fun and safe time.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring that our stay was perfect in every way. Our room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. The beds were very comfortable, allowing us to rest and relax completely. But what really made our stay memorable was the attention to detail from the staff. They were always willing to assist us with a smile, offering helpful recommendations and making sure we felt welcome at all times.

“Nice vacation, some issues.”

First of all, the place is quiet, nice and we had a nice family vacation. That said, let’s say we are used to 4 ½ and 5 *, and we rate this one a 4*, maybe a 3 1/2., except for the staff (5*). I will give many details so the review can be really helpful for choosing the right hotel. To remember, the weather changes, so some of my comments might be good only for the time we were there. STAFF Awesome! Really nice employees. Check in went well and were offered a welcome drink. ROOM We had a renovated room in building 3. They added a door to separate the bathroom area and the bedroom, and that was a lovely surprise. All rooms have a view on the ocean. Our fridge didn’t work and they didn’t fix it. All other demands were answered quickly. The A/C is controlled by the hotel and it stops at night if you don't move. We ended up waking up a night to start it again because it was too hot. The bed was comfortable. They don't have enough maids so your room might be dne later in the day... like while you're having supper, or not at all some days. But she did clean well. BEACH Enough chairs, but definitely not enough shade! As the hurricane Beryl passed while we were there, we can say the little cabanas for shade were not there anymore when we left. Nice entrance in front of volleyball. In front of building 1 and 2, we needed to be careful, there are some rocks in some places. Not too much sargasum and not a lot of waves. We went to this hotel to do snorkeling and see turtles. It was nice but the water could have been clearer. We saw many fishes and 2 turtles. The snorkeling portion is beginning in front of the Secrets up to building 1. As for the renting of snorkeling gear, it is open at around 9-10 until 16h. Unfortunatly, the best time to see turtles is early in the morning or after 16h. So not too helpful unless you rent equipment for days. Paddleboard: There were only 3 available and you need to go with the guide. He ask you arrive 10 minutes before the schedule time. I would recommend 20 to 30 minutes if you really want to do some, if hotel is full. RESTOS The restaurants were a deception to us. We wanted to eat a lot more real Mexican food. Also, the restos 'à la carte' are very small and it is hard to get in. No need to reserve. Every evening, there is one that is closed and there is not central board to advise. I think you need an app, but on vacation we try to 'store' our phones. Alux: Not typical Mexican and so-so. Lima: Depends on what you eat. Rodizio: The best! The meat and the pinnapple were very good. Snack bar: Nice surprise discovered in the last days. (You can order tacos and nachos) Buffet: Very repetitive. We found some very good items, but some other food just ok. The plates are rapidly empty and they don’t supply very fast. As an example, we ate guacamole 3 or 4 times only over almost 2 weeks. Coffee is not served hot and is light in taste. No air conditioning! (except at the left corner of the buffet, and it has limited seats for clients AND senior staff). My daughter had to exit the restaurant once because it was to hot and she was not feeling well. Bars: Drinks are different depending on who prepares it. No constistancy. They use artificial fruit savor, which is not really good. We drank a lot of water and lemonades. COMMON AREAS It was nice to take a coffee in the lobby in the morning or listen to music in the evening. But not enough sitting places. Also, all furniture is very old, uncomfortable, and the cushions are mostly stained. The place needs love! No closed areas with air conditioning. Some mosquitoes, bring repellent and a cream for the hitching if you are sensible to that. EXCURSION We did the Tulum/Cenote/Yal-ku with Cancun Adventures. We had a very pleasant time, but to note everything is done running… the cenote and snorkeling cannot be done without a life jacket, and we need to follow our guide all the time. OUTSIDE THE RESORT Not recommending the Akumal village on the other side of the highway. On the Akumal beach side, we went to Imelda’s la Ecocina and we highly recommend. We had the best fish tacos (200 pesos for 4 fish tacos) and the owner is really sympatic. Overall, we did have a good time, but I don't think we would return.
