This was our first experience at DRM, we went to D Pearl in June, and couldn't wait to see the new Eden. Arrival was fantastic, bags were taken care of right away and we spoke with Marianna, who was very pleasant and entertaining. She gave us the grounds map and pointed out times of food and where to eat when and where. Our room was available right away, which was awesome as we arrived around 2:00 pm. We met with Abel, who immediately scheduled our dinner reservations for the evening as well as for the next several nights, he booked a massage at the spa and asked if we needed anything else. We spent the remainder of the day by the new pool, we were able to obtain a cabana, which was very nice. Very comfortable as well. Enjoyed the music, entertainment, and We stayed in room 2601, bottom floor with a swim out pool. The room is beautiful, very well designed and the amount of storage space is unreal! The shower is very spacious, and even has a sit down ledge, perfect for shaving, or other things (:) Dinner at Suki was hibachi style, we were sat at the bar area, where our meal was prepared right in from of us, and we were able to converse with other guests freely and were entertained by Mario! The food was excellent, however if you are thinking it's like your normal Japanese food at home in the states, please remember you are in Mexico, (winking emoji)!! Theme nights were on FIRE! The night time entertainment on the outdoor patio by the bar is always enjoyable, and a pleasure to watch! The playmakers are a lot of fun and get people to dance and dance with you at times. There were several evenings where the humidity was very high and it was at times unbearably hot. Would be nice to have multiple fans around. Once the night time entertainment ends, its to the Night Club to dance the night away, my favorite! The DJ is very good, one suggestion they play a lot of Latin music which is fine, but it would be nice to mix it up. The night club has a very large dance area, which is great for when there's a large amount of people dancing. If you're into the playroom, I will let you know that the temperature is about 15 degrees HOTTER than in the night club. Let's just say it gets steamy really FAST, and it's unbearable to stay in there for more than 20 minutes. The hot tub was really hot, which is to be expected in August. We did not spend a lot of time here, however the time that we did spend we noticed that the seating areas are not very comfortable, as in the material that was picked is not the best for shall we say "play activities". The ate at the buffet only twice, both times for lunch. We were disappointed in the times that were stated that lunch was to be ready and upon arrival the staff were not ready and asked us to wait five more minutes. Even after waiting, silverware on the buffet was not out. We are not breakfast people, so when it's after 12:00, and lunch isn't readily available that was frustrating. There was a pretty large crowd one day and the buffet was lacking and not being turned over quickly. Lunch at Eros, was delicious, you do have to wait a little while for your food and seating was limited, as the air conditioning was out. Pool area bar tenders are great. (Remember to bring cash to tip your bar tenders). Will note that the music does tend to get louder throughout the day making it very difficult to have conversations with other guests. Also- when the music gets the loudest, it can be heard in Eden. So, if you are wanting peace and quiet in your room, please note that this will not happen. We were there for the PINK FOAM PARTY, and WOW, it was over the top AMAZING! Don't miss it if you are given the opportunity to witness it first hand. We did have Butler service and shout outs to Cesar and Abel. The only downfall, I will say is that we asked through the What's App several times for COKES and we never received. Not that big of a deal, we just went to the bar, but thought that should be pointed out. All in all, we did prefer the food at Pearl better that DRM. We have been debating which Desire we like the best. But, if you like great staff, great entertainment, and modern facilities, I'd say choose DRM.

We went to Desire Riviera Maya for our fourth trip during the second week of July 2024. We were welcomed like family as usual and although the new addition of The Eden took some getting used to, we felt so at home, and that is all because of the incredible staff. I could go on and on about how wonderful they all are-- anticipating needs, engaging in great conversation, and generally being excellent at service. In particular, these folks made our 2024 trip truly extraordinary: At the pool bar: Manuel, Africa, Pedro, and Ivan At the towel hut: Mike, Antonio, Iker, and Danny At the buffet: Eunice, Angel, and Roman Wonderful butlers: Cesar, Roberto Guatemala, and G Playmakers who went above and beyond: Ilse, Kevin, and Tania Baristas at the coffee bar: Patricia and Elizabeth We start to miss them all as soon as we leave, and we can't wait to get back next year! Thank you, thank you, wonderful staff!

“Can't beat the environment, Food could be better, will go back for sure”

This is our first trip to Desire RM and a resort of this type. As first timers, there is plenty of apprehension of the unknown and unexpected. We are non LS but just love to be in a sexy environment and find alike folks to be the funnest around. First, the environment by the pool during the day and theme nights in the evening are AWESOME. You will not find this much fun at any other resort. Lead by the playmakers (Babi is our favorite!) you are bound to have an awesome time. As a first timer we didnt know what to expect but quickly the guards went down and more fun was had. Tip, bring something you swear you would never wear for theme nights because you will wear it! The service around the pool is fantastic, in particular Africa who was always ready with a new drink! We can not speak highly enough about the overall vibe. For food we found lunch to be great and had all the basics you need. Pizza was fine, quesadillas, wraps and sandwiches were all good. Dinners left a little to be desired. While I am sure you are not coming here for the food, for the cost I would expect it to be better. We didn't go hungry by any means but if the food was as good as some of the other resorts in the area, we would never go anywhere else again. With that said, the staff truly is exceptional and will do whatever they can to ensure you are happy (hector and Manual are amazing). Our favorite dinner was Eros where we got shrimp and pizza which both were good. Kahlo, which is their mexican restaurant, didn't actually seem to have a mexican menu. Suki we did hibachi and it was ok but there was an excessive amount of butter in everything. Also if you want a lobster or a steak, it comes with a cost of $150. We have been staying at "the excellence" resorts which or similar price points (if not less expensive) and lobster and filet is all part of the normal dining menu so we were a little surprised at a resort like this they would be nickel and diming you but no big deal there. Also, Ingrid take through in the clutch to get us a massage on the last day. Everyone we talked to said as first timers we had to try the "erotic massage". Ingrid came through last minute getting us set up and booked and our therapists Naye and Arey were great! Do your research but my wife left saying "this was f****** amazing". The whole spa staff including the front desk at check in with Rosy and Ana made it a wonderful experience. If you haven't gone, you should. You will never feel closer to your partner and there is no environment like it. We will be back.

We have been to Desire RM 2 or 3 times a year for over 13 years. First trip to Desire RM after the opening of Eden. The new area is very pretty. We stayed on the old side but utilized the facilities at Eden each day. The new pool area is similar to the old. Still has a swim up bar and poolside bar service. Mike and Danny are always friendly and helpful with towels and umbrellas. We did not eat at Eros for dinner. Lunch there was good, but service is a bit slow. It is ala carte, so if you want more, or something different, you might be there a while. We prefer the old buffet for lunch. It still had a great variety, and good tasting food. You can no longer order anything from the grill. We only saw them gilling on the pool deck one day at Eden, and not at all at the buffet. The ourdoor grilled meals and paella were always good. We did eat at Kahlo for dinner. I would rate it just okay. The restaurant is nice. We thought the portions were a bit small, pretty good taste. We had the Members dinner at Sahlo, steak and shrimp. Not bad at all. Our favorite was Suki. They have revamped their menu. It is more authentic Asian, very good. We stayed in one of the old rooms, which suits us fine. No issues at all with the room. The Eden buildings look nice, but we did not see the inside of a room. The entertainment staff was very interactive. Ilsa, Babi, and Pina were awesome. Leo and Brocolli at watersports are always up for volleyball and cornhole. Leo even helped doctor my wife's injured elbow. More on that later. We do wish they would bring back some of the older pool activities/games. Things like the newlywed game and olympics seemed to get more people involved. Trivia gets a little old. The night entertainment was hit and miss. The Burning Man show and acrobatic show were great. The sensual shows and the bands were just okay, sort of amateur. On to Eden itself. The area is very pretty, but not very functional. There are lots of stairs, some without handrails. Everything is white, so it is hard to tell where a stair starts or ends. This is where my wife fell and banged her elbow pretty good. While pretty with all the tiers, not very functional for people in heels or that have been drinking. The new lobby bar and entertainment area are nice. Plenty of seating, and covered in case of rain. There are more stairs that lead to a level that has even more stairs, or an elevator that takes you up to the disco, hot tub, and Kahlo. The new hot tub is very large with a swim up bar. At least you don't have to climb stairs if you don't want to. One last point was the butler service. Rafael and one other butler (he's bald, sorry we forgot his name) checked on us in our room several times. Other than that we had to hunt down a butler to make/confirm restaurant and spa reservations. Just different with the two different parts of the resort. One more shout out to Marianna. She always greets us with a smile and does her best to make sure we have a great experience. Of course these are the opinions of one couple. No doubt others have a better or worse experience. Overall it was an enjoyable trip. The resort was only about 50% full when we were there. We have several friends who no longer find Desire a great deal for the price. Personally I believe with the continuous increase in prices, many people can no longer afford to come to RM. I hope management reconsiders higher prices and lower occupancy versus lower prices and full occupancy.
