I came with my boyfriend to this hotel over Christmas (low season) for 11 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend! The food was decent to say it’s all inclusive. Lots of choice! There were a few nights where we didn’t really eat as much, such as seafood night but the rest of the time it was good. They have a snack bar open through the day too until around 6pm which did pizza, hamburger, burrito’s, hot dogs and nachos. We tried all of them and they were very nice! The drinks menu was good and we had lots of alcoholic and non alcoholic options. We weren’t always sure of what we could order though without having to pay extra but they use cheaper brands instead of better brands so you could get pretty much anything like vodka, amaretto, rum, baileys, cocktails etc. It has its own beach which is lovely and well kept and we took a stroll most days on there but mostly laid by the pool. It’s very local to 5th Avenue in playa del carmen and not far away from a street full of nice restaurants if you fancy eating out of the hotel. The reef coco beach also have onsite tour reps and a cute little gift shop, where I bought a few items. There’s a 7/11 store right outside the hotel if you need any extra bits too! The entertainment was good through the day. They had activities such as stretching, bingo (which we enjoyed playing and won twice), aqua Zumba and water volleyball along with children’s activities and other games. They have mini golf, tennis and basketball too to keep you entertained but we weren’t able to play tennis on our last day, as the rackets were in use. They should maybe limit this to an hour each to give everyone the opportunity to play. The entertainment on an evening was ok to our knowledge but we struggled to find the theatre the first few nights and then didn’t stay up late enough to watch the shows. The only one we did watch was a Christmas nutcracker performance with ballet dancers but this wasn’t our thing, so we stayed for 5 minutes then headed to bed. They did have a karaoke night which sounded fun but we weren’t too bothered by not seeing this. The pillows were the only downside I’d say! Not very comfy and the other things I am just nitpicking on. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and it was worth the money

I went to the Spa Ya’ax for one of the packages offered to us poolside by one of the staff members. I had a facial, body scrub and full body massage at the spa salon where Gimrna was very pleasant handling the administrative duties that day. And then within my five day stay, I had two more full body massages on the beach. Excessive? Not at all. I had the same masseuse all three times and she was truly the best I have ever had in all my 73 years!!!!! She was responsive to my requests, truly knew the anatomy, and was extremely pleasant. I told her I wanted to bring her back to Canada! She has magic hands and a nurturing nature that seemed to make me feel a LOT better. As a fitness instructor, I can recommend her wholeheartedly and 1000000%. Her name is Nadia. Thank you Nadia. You were amazing!

“Disappointed”
Hotel is expensive compared to what they deliver. The food in the buffet restaurant was really boring. Cocktails weren’t drinkable. No flexibility. Bicycles in terrible condition. Al a carte restaurants where good. Very clean property. Good entertainment staff.

Small resort with wonderful lobby, restaurant, bar & entertainment staff. The food was good but very limited choices…especially on the buffet. If you have any picky eaters, this isn’t the resort for you. Our family of 8 walked to 5th avenue multiple times for meals. The building that our rooms were in had a sewage smell. Our room was cleaned daily but we had to ask for shower towels multiple times. We’ve been coming to Mexico for 25 years (plus Aruba, Jamaica & DR) and while this wasn’t at the bottom of our stays, we won’t be returning as there are many better choices.
