We saw a circus show and comedy show at the resort which were Vegas quality. Nine-year old loved the playroom, which was small, but staffed with caring staff. As always, the Palace staff was courteous, helpful, and nice. Location one block from Fifth Avenue shops if shopping is your thing.

We just returned from Playacar Palace where we went with another couple for a week. It is a smaller resort, but very well taken care of, and it is an all inclusive family friendly resort. The rooms were always clean and fully stocked with towels and the staff were very friendly. Our rooms were always fresh and the beds made sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. The beach is also nicer than the Moonpalace Sunrise beach as there was very little sargassam seaweed. The water was a little rough the last few days, but a welcome escape from the pools. There is a few restaurants in the hotel and we tried them all. Our favorites were the Italian Trattoria and Madre Mia. Kevin at Trattoria made the service absolutely perfetto! He was very attentive and seemed to know exactly when we were all done and then had our next dish ready. I don't know if it was the time of the season, but it was also not too busy and we prefer that more intimate and quiet dinner. We loved the thin breadsticks and the Italian drinks and the entire staff work so hard everywhere on the resort. At Madre Mia which is Latin American cuisine, we were met by the friendly hostess Edith at the front who found us our table. Our server the first night was Ivan and he recommended a few appetizers. We ordered a few to try and some main dishes, and it was amazing food! We liked it so much we went back a second night and once again Edith greeted us. Rigoberto was our server this second night and recommended fantastic drinks to try. We ordered different items to try and were as just impressed with everything being cooked perfectly and it was so flavorful! It definately became our favorite place. There is so much to do at this resort, that the week just flies by. We went out everyday walking and shopping on 5th Avenue and did a day trip to Cozumel that is free, you don't need resort credits. Just choose and pay for anyone of the 3 ferries that are leaving on the half hour time slots. They all run about 16 - 19 US per person, depending on the time of day and which ferry you take. There are excursions you can also book but we didn't go this time as we were happy just hanging in the local areas. The four of us all really enjoyed this week and will definately be coming back.

This was our first time at Playacar Palace and being Palace members, it is by far our favorite. We have been to the Moon Palace several times and The Grand. Playacar just has a very friendly, family atmosphere. Much smaller than MP and the Grand, but also more personable. My husband and I did not want for anything. We were always checked on by the staff no matter where we were in the hotel. Drinks were constantly flowing at the pool, Daniel, Daniela and Sylvi are amazing servers and very personable. Love that they remember your names and make you feel welcome at all times. The resort is small, but loved that I could walk back to my room in 5 minutes from the pool if I forgot something. Another perk was you see the same guests daily at the pool or beach. Made some very good friends on our trip. Alex at the lobby bar always served you with a smile and would make drink suggestions as well as never letting your cocktail be empty. The maid service was top notch! Lucera did an amazing job cleaning our room daily. Allen our concierge was friendly and helped with managing our tours. Spa services were amazing! Palace Resorts never disappoint with their spa services. Entertainment every night was excellent. From the fire show to the nightly music to the Super Bowl party and the special Valentines dinner. Love the proximity Playacar is to 5th Avenue. A huge bonus with not feeling confined to your resort. Loved walking to the town in the morning and the evening with all the vendors, shops and restaurants. So much to do and see. The ferry to Cozumel is just a 5 minute walk from the resort. Another perk staying at Playacar. You can also enjoy the day at Cozumel Palace and shop, eat and enjoy the downtown. All the food at the restaurants were absolutely delicious! Food was top notch and very fresh. Enjoyed the tequila tasting at Lahna, teppanyaki at Momo was excellent! And the shrimp cocktail at the pool bar was my favorite everyday. Cannot wait to return to Playacar Palace next year. Looking forward to seeing updates to the resort scheduled for September this year. Big shout out to Manual at the concierge baggage service. The little reminders he mentioned to us when checking out of our room was very smart. We felt very safe in Playa de Carmen and during our day trip to Cozumel. We have traveled to other islands, but always come back to Mexico for the kind people, service and the best food!

“Great Location on the Beach!”
This all inclusive resort is ideally located on the beach just 2 blocks from the pier (ferries to Cozumel dock here) and blocks and blocks of restaurants, stores, and nightlife (Calle Seis) in Playa del Carmen. This all inclusive resort is ideally located on the beach just 2 blocks from the pier (ferries to Cozumel dock here) and blocks and blocks of restaurants, stores, and nightlife (Calle Seis) in Playa del Carmen. While 45 minute or so drive from the Cancun Airport might seem long (it really isn't), the combination of the Palace Resorts unique luxe customer service, property restaurants/bars/activities, the beach side pool, the boutique size spa/salon with hydrotherapy services, the beach vibe, well appointed rooms with robes, slippers, bath amenities, 24 hour included room service, etc., and ability to walk off the property and head to the pier area (about 2 blocks away), other local beaches and blocks of local business (merch, food, bars), 2 well appointed malls providing high level brands of merch, is a SUPER BIG PLUS! Resort staff is super friendly and always willing to help out. And no need to worry about security, all staff members at the entrance are super vigilant about making sure only resort guests made it into the resort areas (along the beach also), and kept all human lizard loungers happy and in check! The Spa and salon were first rate! The hydrotherapy had me wishing that I could take the attendants and facilities home with me!!! Dry sauna, steam sauna, cold rinses, a cold plunge pool, a jacuzzi, and my favorite - a pool with back massage jets and full body jets were sublime! I did this before every massage I had and walked away feeling energized, renewed and ready for an afternoon nap!!! Evening restaurants are small to medium sized, but food and wine selections are curated and worth the try. I tasted several things on two of the restaurant menus that I would have never tried at home, and fell in love with Shabu-Shabu! It was super easy to try new foods with head waiters that explained food and wine choices, asked the right questions, and helped you pick wine, food and portions that make your meal adventurous and enjoyable! The wine tastings are intimate and wonderfully paired with small appetizers, the Mixology activities at the MadreMIa restaurant in the evening are epic - and the curated music has you dancing in your chair! The Momo (Asian Fusion) restaurant has a wide ranging menu, along with the typical Teppanyaki experience, in addition to the Shabu-Shabu option with Wagyu beef. The breakfast and lunch buffets catered to almost every breakfast urge you could possibly have and then some, with a wonderful view of the pool and ocean. The small cafe had staff that were part baristas, crepe artists, and mind readers! Even the poolside lunch fare had a yummy menu, including tropical drink choices- enough that empty tables were a real steal when you could find one! I truly enjoyed my week at this resort.... a great combo of the peace and quiet and pampering that I craved, along with the urge to enjoy other humans when I felt the urge!!!

I was there a couple of weeks ago with a group of friends. WE HAD A BLAST! We relaxed, ate, drank, did excursions, and enjoyed the pool and beach. This was the first time I really used my membership with friends. I was very nervous how it would go. All but one couple did the presentation so we could get $1500 in spa credits. Let me tell you, it was so worth it! We all had at least two massages and the spa area itself is so nice! The pool area is smaller and they do reserve the good seats for their diamond members. That is kind of annoying. They do release the chairs at 10am I believe if they are unclaimed. That being said, we never had an issue getting chairs. We are early risers tho. We weren’t always together but eh. The pool staff is great too. Sam and Erik are great. The waiters are great too. We never had empty glasses. I’ve stayed at moon palace Cancun twice and I’d stay at playacar palace over MP any day. This place is small so the staff remembers you and are so nice. The shows at MP were a little better but I think that was mainly due to the venue. MP has a stage whereas playacar only has a ballroom and lobby. If you’re sitting anywhere besides the first two rows, you basically are looking around the person in front of you to see the show. The food is so good at Playacar. I remember not being thrilled with MP food but here it was outstanding. At playacar you don’t need to take carts anywhere bc of the size of the resort and can walk 5 min and be in downtown playa del Carmen. Downtown is so much fun as well and we never felt unsafe. We actually came down a day early and stayed at a hotel and then walked right over to the resort to check in. It was so nice having a full day at check in. I was a little disappointed in my room placement. I’m the member and I got the worst view. I had friends who got the same room level and their view was outstanding. Not sure if it’s a thing of trying to win over new members or what. That being said, we were barely in the room so it wasn’t the biggest deal in the world. To be fair I’d really give it a 4.5 out of 5 but rounding up bc what the things that bugged me weren’t huge deal breakers and we all had so much fun!
