“Great escape from reality, peace of mind during COVID”

We chose the Family Reserve (Family concierge) at Paradisus Esmeralda because we wanted a place where we could stay on the resort and be entertained all week. The COVID precautions were beyond what we could have expected- we felt very safe. The Reserve (concierge/butler service, thanks Hector) was the right choice for us because it gave us an extra pool and restaurant to use. The resort installations and architecture are luxurious and beautiful, everything is in excellent condition. There were endless areas to explore and enjoy. The restaurants for dinner made the trip worth every penny- the food and the service was amazing, even with all the COVID precautions in place. We tried gourmet dishes from all over the world, and never repeated anything. We had a great time at the water park, it was fun for all ages and the lifeguards were attentive and fun (thanks to Christopher). Our favorite place to hang out was the sunrise pool with the swim up bar adjacent to the pirate ship (thanks to bartenders Luis and Enrique). The family concierge restaurant Olio had excellent staff and service- we were always taken care of by Griselda and her staff. They helped us obtain food for our 18 month old. We had a very special experience doing a family photo shoot- the photographer and videographer were SO talented, and they edited our photos and videos in ONE day. They were pricey but so worth it for the experience and quality. Suggestions: If you are traveling with a baby/toddler/small child, you will need a stroller. The resort is large, and we switched areas several times per day. There are many areas that are not "walkable" for an adventurous toddler because of decorative ponds/fountains/boardwalks/slippery floors. Plan ahead or bring your own snacks/food for your toddler- it was tricky to get healthy foods for our 18 month old and had to plan 45min/1hr in advance for it to arrive. Room service makes fresh baby purees. If your toddler/child will attend dinner with you, bring quiet activities like books or coloring- the sit down meals are very formal and include several courses of food. Thanks for everything! “Best family vacation”

When the Bahamas said no, Mexico said yes. As a healthcare worker I have worked five months without a break, and this was a much needed break. My family stayed at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen. The Hotel was gorgeous and the staff is so friendly, warm and welcoming. Our a butler Neftali, was excellent and made our stay comfortable. The staff followed Covid precaution to the highest level. They all wore mask and face shields, checked temperature at every entrance, the restaurants were not full with people and everyone was socially distant. Thank you for allowing this mom and healthcare worker to have a much needed break.

My family visited Paradisus La Esmarelda in July and had a wonderful time. We were greeted by Claudia our concierge for the week upon arrival and toured the resort. She checked in with us daily even making dinner reservations for us and directing us to activities throughout the resort. The staff here is excellent. Gustavo at the scuba center gave my 12 year old son his first scuba lesson and was so patient and kind. Miguel helped set us up on the beach every day. He always remembered our names and was great interacting with the kids and helping them be comfortable on the beach. We loved eating at all the restaurants but our fave was the Market. Guadalupe always greeted us by name in the morning and Cecilia always welcomed the family at night. Victor Louis Angel and Roberto always took great care of us. Lois at the Sunrise pool bar was great with the kids making them tropical drinks with a smile. We ventured out of the resort one day for our scuba trip and the resort provided Adrian as our driver. He was the best. He talked to us about the region and told us so much interesting information about life in Mexico. We enjoyed telling him about our home town and sharing the similarities and differences. We even taught each other some new words. I can’t say enough about how relaxing and special our time at Paradisus was. The people here truly understand hospitality and will make you never want to leave!

Great resort and friendly staff. I felt more safe at the resort that at home in the US. Everyone is wearing masks and face visors and you sanitize your feet And hands before walking into any restraunt.Gabriella was a great waitress for breakfast every morning and she knew my order before I ordered my food at the end. Angel and Alfredo gave the best service at the adult swim bar and really made our trip. Since we spent most of our time at the adult pool they were the ones that really made our trip so enjoyable. I highly recommend hanging out there with the two of them attending to your every whim. Our butler Alberto was also attentive and made our trip enjoyable.
