We LOVED this resort and couldn’t understand why there were bad reviews. My review of our stay at Maya suites February 9-14th We booked Del Mar and upgraded to Maya suites before we came. We arrived late so went to enjoy some great food at the sports bar at Lindo . The lobby is GORGEOUS ! I agree the scent is strong but I loved it . Our corner suite had a huge wrap around balcony . My kids LOVED the hammock swing but parents beware when your kids spin in it the large wooden plank can pelt you in the head leaving you with a goosebump lpl. The room was perfect although our shower door didn’t close which caused it to leak and the water pressure was non existent. This was not a problem just an observation . Every level has cold water dispenser to fill your rooms glass jugs and the 1st floor has ice as well. Room came with robes, shampoo /conditioner and body wash. Hair dryer as well and magnifying light mirror in the bathroom. We were in building 65/64 the closest to the main lobby and kids pirate ship water park . Throughout the resort you with find cold water dispenser infused with fruit. Plastic cups are included . Washrooms and grounds were immaculate ! My kids loved the wave pool! Every hour the waves start! Also the water slides are awesome !The lazy river has lots of rafts if you forgot yours So many pools to choose from! However the towel game is real ! Get up to put out your towels at 6:30/7 am to secure a good spot. We loved walking down to the beach and we enjoyed their burgers and HOT fresh French fries ! The beach waves are STRONG . Highly recommend bringing your kids life jackets . We brought our own floats the stores are super expensive . $117 CAN for a child’s swim shirt for example . Breakfast buffet was great ! We tried the main lobby , down by the beach and Lindo. All were comparable. We didn’t love the lunch options so chose to walk down to the beach and loved the burgers and fries . The mall is great for tacos and a great kids playground ! You will also find a star cafe and the crepe and ice cream store there . Dinner buffet at Lindo was good ! We also ate a seafood restaurant ( HIGHLY RECOMMEND the lobster roll) Also booked at the steak house and had some great service ! The Maya cafe was my Fave ! Lots of options and beautiful outdoor seating area as well . Request a mug if you don’t want a plastic cup. Resort is completely walkable we walked through the Delmar and beaches lobby and enjoyed the openness of them and all the animals. The Coatis run wild on the walk up from Delmar pools to the lobby lol. We sadly never saw the monkeys! Only thing we didn’t like are the Courtesy rooms . We had a late flight so chose not to spend the $15 and hour to keep our room though next time we will . The courtesy rooms are in the building across from the main lobby. Two small narrow locker room style . Only half curtains so the entire rooms get flooded easily . Pack a small bag and don’t attempt to bring in a family of 4 with luggage’s . It did its job but I would have thought for the size of the resort the rooms would have been bigger. We can’t wait to book again! Don’t listen to the negative reviews ! You will have a great time ! Drinks **** We aren’t big drinkers but brought our yetis and had cold mojitos all day! A sidenote for kids consider bringing powder Pedialyte to put in ice water during the day. I find they don’t drink enough and that sun is strong. Definitely bring sun shirts. We wish we had because we couldn’t keep up with sunscreen. My kids spent all day in the pool.. We chose to take Dukoral before our trip. Also I’m a bit of a health nut so high dose of vitamin c before and after the flight ZERO sickness or stomach problems . We ate everything.

I think this is the perfect family spot in Mexico, and we would come back 100%. We had 8 adults (one single couple, one set of grandparents) and 4 kids under six, and one baby. Food - food was excellent all around. There isn’t really anywhere to eat near the pool, so you either have to dry off your go to the buffet (opens at 1pm) or make the trek to the beach to get tacos and burgers and fries. This being said, tacos and burgs at the beach and of course two bars. Drinks were great but I am not picky, give mama a pina colada! Room - rooms were all beside each other but beware you can hear. We had a sound machine and didn’t hear anything. If your in the rooms by the pool you will hear the bass at night from the shows. I felt like this was a smaller room than other hotels but was updated, modern, clean, and had everything. AC worked wonders. Balcony’s only had two small chairs but no complaints here. Pools - were amazing for the kids. There was the water park, the big slides, a wave pool (which I’ve never had at an all inclusive!) and lots of music and entertainment. Towel service is easy, of course there is the reserving chairs with towels issues but we managed to snag some before breakfast every night. Staff was fab and answered all our needs. We had a late flight but the lobby has shower rooms and change rooms so you can be at the pool all day still. Only thing that really sucked is we all got stomach sick near the end but that’s not necessarily Iberostars fault! Thanks Iberostar ❤️

Ex of good service - front lobby finding a maintenance fellow to fix my wife's glasses, front lobby calling Nexus to find out why our airport shuttle ( for 4 adults & 3 pre teen granddaughters) was 45 minutes late . 3 pre teen granddaughters thoroughly enjoyed pool, water slides, wave pool & lazy river . Off resort day trips were too expensive for a family of five

We have been traveling to the Iberostar resorts for over 20 years. We love the staff, grounds and food. This time we stayed at the Maya and were very disappointed. The Lindo staff is much nicer and helpful so don't upgrade to the Maya. We traveled with 4 adults and 2 children. We will be returning with our entire family in June and will stay at the Lindo. Looking forward to seeing Armando again!
