Our stay was great. The rooms and grounds are beautiful and extremely well kept. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Alex, a member of the entertainment staff and water aerobics instructor, did an outstanding job interacting with guests. We have been fortunate to stay at many resorts. We have not experienced more delicious food. We had very few concerns. One was the allowed behavior of a group of guests at the steakhouse. They were very noisy and regularly used loud obscene language. They were allowed to stay even though they degraded the otherwise great meal and experience. Overall we loved the resort. We would certainly stay there again.

Just returned from 11 nite holiday at this resort & we thought this hotel & its facilities are fantastic, while you can use other RIU in the area the Palace is still the best, while people say the rooms are tired & need a lick of paint they are all very clean & tidy, bed was very comfortable. I am coeliac and all the food is labelled as to what you can/cant eat & the choices available are 2nd to none. All the staff in the resort are so polite & helpful so you have an enjoyable relaxing holiday. The beach is very wide in this resort & is kept very clean & tidy and plenty of sunbeds in the shade of the palm trees, where the waiters even bring your drinks. Would recommend this resort for a relaxing holiday.

“Wonderful Time!”

We just returned from a 10 night stay at Riu Palace Mexico. This was our third consecutive time and Im sure we’ll be back for another awesome stay. We just returned from a 10 night stay at Riu Palace Mexico. This was our third consecutive time and Im sure we’ll be back for another awesome stay. The staff is our favorite, and we’ve been to many Riu Hotels. Always smiling, attentive and friendly. A special shout out to Louis, Patricia and Manuel in the courtyard and Lobby bar. Also to German in the buffet. Always so attentive and friendly. The rooms and every part of the hotel is immaculate. The food was amazing! However, our lobster ravioli at the Italian restaurant was cold, but we did not address it which we should have. I can’t imagine anyone not happy with the choices at the buffet or for lunch at the beach. So delicious! We did have an unexpected experience at the beach, however. We had reserved our lounge chair on the beach and after breakfast when we returned by 10 am, one of our towels was missing. Can’t believe that someone actually stole a towel. (How Rude!). My husband was able to get another one from the towel stand, no problem. We were disappointed seeing people smoking on the beach, even a cigar, very close to us. Plus we saw many cigarette butts in the sand. Last year there were designated areas for smoking, which there still are, but there are no “no smoking” signs on the beach that we could see, nor was the staff stopping them from smoking. I hope that can be resolved for next year. Thank you again for a very wonderful holiday! See you next year!

“Lovely resort, lovely staff”

We returned from a week at the Riu Palace Mexico at the beginning of March (2025). We have been to the Mayan Rivera multiple times and this resort was a bit run down in certain areas (chipping paint, cracks in concrete etc), as others have mentioned, however this is to be expected from an ocean front resort, and it was super clean anywhere that you looked including the rooms. The beach, food, and staff were the best we have experienced, and the grounds are impeccably kept. Drinks are fabulous. And then there was our "best friend in Mexico, Alex!" leading us through exercise at the pool in the morning. What more could you ask for?
