We decided not to spend a lot of money in a hotel because for our honeymoon we had many activities planned, we went to Xcaret, Xplor, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, Cozumel and many other activities so we just wanted a hotel to literally sleep, rest and the next continue with our scheduled activities, this hotel worked perfect, it's close to the 5th avenue, restaurants and shops a block away, we loved it and the price is accessible, we highly recommend this hotel. Nosotros decidimos no gastar mucho en hotel ya que para nuestra luna de miel teniamos muchas actividades planeadas, fuimos a Xcaret, Xplor, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, Cozumel y muchas otras otras actividades asi que solo queriamos un hotel para literal dormir, descansar y al siguiente continuar con nuestras actividades

We were disappointed to find upon arrival that the exterior of the hotel is run down. Mold/rust around the exterior of the property (unlike the perfect photos advertised), green algae growing in the pool, and a very disappointing roof top. No jacuzzi on the roof top as advertised (it’s actually packed away out of sight) and the roof top bar is abandoned. The room was fine and everything was clean; but we were really looking forward to the pool/jacuzzi and disappointed to not be able to use them.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for a week. The room was clean and comfortable but we had a few issues. The hot water in the shower only lasted about 5mins leaving one of us with a cold shower. The hot tubs were cold, we tried to heat them and waited an hour but they remained cold. The bed was also strangely short. My boyfriend is 6ft tall and his feet hung over the end of the bed. The hotel did give us passes to the Margaritas beach club which was nice, these are for two chairs and an umbrella. The hotel doesn't advertise these so be sure to ask. The hotels front desk staff were friendly and the hotel was very safe. There are lots of good restaurants walking distance away. We loved calamar de la 10 a few blocks away.

I came to Playa to dive and picked Bambu Suites for its proximity to the dive shop I was training with. I gave it three stars because it had some pluses and minuses: Pluses: rooms are large (two room suites) with a kitchenette, rooms are reasonably clean though not hospital immaculate, daily clean up service was reliable, staff is friendly and helpful, price is modest. Minuses: rooms aren't THAT clean. I had to pick up stray hairs from the last guest. Nor are they that well kept up. Hair dryer didn't work and kitchenette basically means refrigerator, sink, microwave and some dishes and silverware. A coffee pot would be a very small investment that would really help and might have been expected. Moreover the whole place is a little dingy. Nobody used the pool (which is tiny) that I could see. In short, it worked for me given the price and location and my purpose (diving all day) but it's not a place I'd pick as a destination. Oh one last thing - quite a bit of street noise some nights, if that's a concern.

I enjoyed my stay here, but one thing could have made it better. In a place where you’re not supposed to drink tap water, give a guy a bottle of water to start off his stay. Ads show mini bar in junior suite. No mini bar in junior suite room 305. A sign in the room showed price for water and other items, I asked at the desk if they sold these items. and was told no and that an Oxxo was close. Even rental car places in Mexico give a bottle of water. No stove. A hot plate and more than a few utensils would have been helpful. Utensils were hardly service for two. Wifi was bad. Jumped on a weak wifi signal not belonging to the establishment. Whoever owns it...thanks. On the plus side, nice balcony and nice bathroom items. Just needs to be a bit more polished. Wouldn’t take much.
