We went for about a week and the hotel is a bit dated, as others have mentioned, but the location and staff can’t be beat. We spent the week on one of the Bali Beds (there’s an upcharge of bottle service if you don’t have all inclusive, and based off reviews of the food quality, it didn’t seem worth the extra price, so we paid for breakfast only, which was perfectly fine). Omar, Karla, and Ernesto were so nice to us all week, remembering us each day and taking very good care of us. The beach is truly spectacular, with perfect white sand and turquoise water. The rooms are fine, the breakfast was fine. We loved our trip!

“Great location, basic stay”

We booked Hotel Krystal mid-December as an add-on night before heading to another resort. Our expectations were absolutely met for what we needed. We booked Hotel Krystal mid-December as an add-on night before heading to another resort. Our expectations were absolutely met for what we needed. Room was a little dated, but very spacious and beds were comfortable. Hotel had more of a local hangout feel; nice lobby bar and music entertainment. Only ate at one restaurant and it was basic but good. Pool was a little dirty and hot tub could have been warmer but beach was beautiful and swimmable. Location was great. Overall a convenient, safe spot at a fair price point.

The Krystal Cancun - Honest Review. I had originally been double booked elsewhere and dropped on here last minute. The rooms are basic and I had issues with lighting when I first got to my hotel room, but they did send maintaince straight away. My view was of the main road and hotel roof so not great. I paid £1400 for bed and breakfast for 4nights so not so cheap. However I did sleep well the beds are comfy. The WiFi isn't great and the room smelt damp. The room is set up for self catering but had no knives and folks. The hotel drinking water is chargeable, this for free would be an added compliment and as a nice touch would of helped. However they did leave me some tequila in my room one day which was a nice added extra. The staff were certainly more geared towards their latino clientele, some staff were more friendly then others. I was with friends, but ate alone and noticed that at breakfast spanish speaking customers received a more rounded service, the same with day to day staff walking round. In the aquamarine restaurant, the staff left tip notes after ordering coffees and cokes at breakfast (I don't think this is helpful when I have paid for this as part of my package). I tip for good service, not for what I have already paid for. Which is someone to just bring me a coffee with my morning breakfast, it's the least of what I expect as part of the service offering which i have booked and paid for). I'm pretty easy going, but the food was all around not great with some odd offerings for breakfast, I mainly ate the eggs as there wasn't much else to eat and noticed it as I went hungry most of the time lol 😅 . Other areas: there are some upsides it's central and located on the beach, but that only goes so far. The reception staff were nice and did call the room to check if I needed anything. The hotel needs better a variety of food for the buffet and marked pricing for those who are just bed and breakfast and also signposting people what's on offer and what and where they can eat, all I knew was the aquamarine restaurant and the bar near the beach and didn't know what any of the other options were. I was there for new years eve and the celebration for that was great, a band, music and party poppers. If they just put that effort into breakfast and the buffet and made an effort both entertaining even 3 times a week they're see a marked difference. 100% a budget holiday camp than resort...... points 5 out of 10, think two days is enough here anymore you'll be bored and there's very little in the way of peace and quiet.
