This is our 15th year of visits to this most Excellent resort. We keep coming back at this time of year for a place to escape and relax from the hectic pace at home. This is the place to come and RELAX!!! Once again we had a marvelous stay at the Excellence Club. Because we live in the northlands we like to eat outdoors as much as possible. Out of the 10 restaurant options 7 of them are able to accommodate our desire to eat outside. We are so thankful for the consideration the staff gave us to make that possible. The restaurant decor and menu options are great. If you like steaks, you can order a steak in almost every restaurant in the evening. But when you are so close to the ocean, enjoying the fresh seafood here is a must. They have so many seafood options also available at the majority of the restaurants for lunch and dinner. They have an app to make the resort paper free and it makes it easy to plan out a full day’s activities, including restaurant menus-right at your fingertips. We love the greeting, “welcome home,” as we arrive and are handed a glass of sparkling wine. And then we relax...
Vilma and Jakeline ensure our days and evenings are just the way we want them. We enjoy all the restaurants, each is so unique. The managers and their staff make great recommendations for the evening dinner meal and have taken us comfortably out of our box of usual favorites. We have never been disappointed by their selections and sometimes even the chefs would come out to check on us and a special dish they made- thanks Chef Eduardo at Spice. Thank you to Managers & Captains-Heidi, Amaynari, Gloria, Candalaria, Namsra, Jesus and Noemi. Hostesses-Emily, Saray, Alessandra, Laura and Diana. Waiters-Yovanni, Gamaliel, Hugo, Remi, Hector, Pedro, Efrain, Bonifacio, Jonny, Sergio, Efrain, Jose Marie, Jose Roberto, Daniela, Grizelda. There is a wide range of dining options for the evening. From burgers at the Sports Bar to fine dining at most other restaurants, there’s something for everyone.
Mornings for us begin with a walk or run on the beach or the bike trail, then on to the gym for a workout or gym challenge with encouraging and fun Martin or Sandra or yoga with the excellent instructor Amber. A stop at Aroma (Mary, Raquel & Yeni) for an espresso and breakfast/ lunch at The Kitchen Table, Lobster House or Orégano, outdoors of course! You can catch Chef Jesus some mornings at Kitchen Table behind the grills for breakfast. This year I found him in the area of traditional Mexican breakfast foods and he made me a lovely tostada with fried egg and traditional toppings. Delicious! And in Oregano chef Mauricio fixed a marvelous ceviche for lunch just for us. Sometimes you only have to ask. Thank you to Managers-and Hostess - especially Marie and Dulce. Waiters- Luis, Tonatuih, Juan, Limberth and Jorge, then off to relax at the pool.
The afternoon is spent either relaxing on the lazy river, hanging at the pool bar listening to live music or enjoying beach activities. Our favorite is taking the hobie-cat out and enjoying the sun and water. Thanks to the bartenders and servers around the hotel. Rubi, David, Virgilio, Cesar. We also enjoy getting room service- a very good selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner options available almost 24hrs a day. We’d love it if you could order room service from the app they have. 
We would recommend getting a room in the club level. The amenities there are worth it. Each day is relaxed and every need is attended to at the Club level pool or beach area. Fernanda, Alejandro, Mario, Yuediel (pool concierge team) and servers Emanuel and Angel all take great care of you. In the evening a sweet snack is dropped off to your room - Thanks Sergio and Xavier. You also have access to the Excellence Club Lounge, which is a beautiful bar area and the wonderful restaurant, Magna. You can have an amazing breakfast or dinner there (thanks Hostess Emily; Waiters Lorena, Gamaliel, Grizelda and Bartender Jorge as well) Thanks to Luis and Dulce for keeping our room clean. 
A word to pool lovers, some of the pools run on the cool side while others are heated, so be sure to dip your toes in to test. We’d also like to let you know that none of the restaurants for lunch or dinner are “eat and dash out” experiences. The waiters provide a leisurely first class service that allows you to have a dining experience where you can spend time with your dining partner. 
Yep! We L❤️VE this place and have already booked our return.

The only thing better than the food & the beach was the service by the amazing staff in Excellence Club. Yeudiel & Luci took first class care of us in the beachside cabanas. Vianney gave us top notch service for our anniversary and hooked us up with a private table during the outdoor Mexican music & food festival night. And at Magna we feasted on tomahawk ribeyes prepared & served up with smiles by Emily, Marcela, & Gamaliel.

Our third time back to this location, we enjoyed the Club experience. The staff are professional and genuinely friendly. The dining at the Magna was fabulous, thank you Chef Marce, waiter Anibal, Hostess Emily, Bartender Jorge, and Gloria, manager. Cesar our favorite bartender in the lounge is always a pleasure to see. Baristas at Aroma are wonderful..the gym is excellent. Food never a disappointment.

This was our first time at the resort. We went with 12 people. We also paid extra for the Club.== i felt in wasnt worth the upgrade. This was our first time at the resort. We went with 12 people. We also paid extra for the Club.== i felt in wasnt worth the upgrade. Food-- Magna was the worst restaurant for dinner ( upgrade) Other restaurants were good not great. Desert choices were bad. Resort had a breakfast buffet but no lunch buffet. Pools-- There were lots of pools including 3 private club pools( upgrade) The one by our rooms did not have a bar so it took forever to get a drink. We had to walk to the other end of the resort to find another private pool. Staff works hard but they are understaffed. Night time shows were good. My family that went are cruisers and we felt that we should of done a cruise especailly for the price that we paid. FYI-- do not walk barefoot near the pools, the concrete is not grooved and the water makes it very slippery. Saw lots of people slipping , me included.
