It’s been a little over a week since we returned from our 10th annual trip to Excellence Playa Mujeres – and once again, the wonderful staff outdid themselves. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Diego all the way up to the last day when we enjoyed a final cocktail at the Martini Bar with Carmen. Everything was Excellent! The food was delicious as always; I keep dreaming about the ribeye at The Grill and my husband loved the pork ribs – we can’t wait to have them again on our next trip. This year, we were especially impressed by the time and care Jonathan from the Excellence Club took to not only make us feel welcome but also to go the extra mile by setting up an ofrenda in our room for Dia de los Muertos. He printed pictures I sent of family members we’ve lost and set them out along with the six elements – it was amazing and a very meaningful way to honor them. We were grateful to participate and learn more about the meaning of the holiday, and we will continue to recognize the day(s) in our household, wherever we are – thank you, Jonathan! We also enjoyed catching up with Floricel. He’s been at EPM since we started going and it’s always so good to see him and to hear how he and his family are doing. Floricel has a sixth sense, and whether you're in his area or not, he seems to show up with a smile and a drink just when you need it. Be sure to look for him when you go. I want to offer one more special shout out to Jacqueline for her generous and kind heart and for always being there with a smile and an offer to help. Everyone at Excellence works so hard, and each day we saw Jacqueline walking around the property, checking in on guests, and looking for ways to make sure that everyone is having an excellent experience. Jacqueline would always stop by to say hello, ask if we needed anything, and then just visit with us. That meant so much and we loved spending time with her again this year and look forward to more good conversations next year for our 11th visit! There were a lot of new faces, and it was fun to get to know them. We met Mario at the EC beach and Building 8 pool this year. What an amazing guy! He’s a natural for Excellence. We also really enjoyed talking with Yeudiel at building 8 pool and are so grateful for his attention to details and heart for hospitality, he took great care of us! Yessica was on her game as always at building pool 8 and it was great to see her. Shout out to Fabiola for doing a great job serving everyone at Building 8B; and to Lucy – who was everywhere with her beautiful smile. Abel kept our mini bar stocked and made sure my husband had a nice cold Fanta every day – which made him very happy! Again, it feels like the Excellence staff knows what you need (or want) before you do. Take care of these guys where you’re there, because they will take great care of you! Finally, I can’t cover everyone, but I want to mention several people that we’ve met over the years and were so happy to see this year. Vilma is so good in her role, and we appreciated the time we got to visit with her, she’s so calm even with so much going on! It’s always so good to see Josue and to catch up at the beach, he makes you feel right at home. We loved seeing Roman at Cielo Bar – you know he’s going to take care of you! We were happy to see Ivan and Doroteo, except, of course, on the last day when Doroteo came to get our luggage, who would ever want to leave!? It’s ok, we’ll be back next year. Roman was working hard keeping the Martini bar stocked and always had a smile on his face when we saw him. It was great to see Alan at Lobster House, and we made a special trip over to the breakfast buffet to see Tonatiuh (Agave is a great place for the buffet). Jorge still makes the best Old Fashions at Magna, and Cesar was on his game as always. Jenny kept our room in great shape and we’re always happy to see her. And thanks Anyi and Isabel at the Sports Bar for our sparkling waters when we were too full from our delicious dinners! Finally, Addy, from Mille Spa, and her beautiful smile came by throughout our visit and set us up with the best massages from Ignacia and Patricia – they were amazing, and we highly recommend them! This is our favorite vacation home and we can’t wait to return! See you all next year! Joe & Natalie

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon a few weeks ago and were so impressed by everything the resort had to offer. The resort is kept exceptionally clean and all of the staff are so friendly. We had room service twice and the food was delicious and delivered within 30 minutes both times. We loved all of the food we had at the restaurants and were able to order multiple appetizers/entrees to try new foods. Our favorite restaurant was Spice... the sushi was so good! The wood-fired pizzas every afternoon by the pool were our favorite afternoon snack and Enrique was incredibly fast! Our first afternoon we met Isabel in the Sports Bar who gave us so much good information about the resort, restaurants and bars. She made delicious drinks and we loved seeing her around the resort working in different areas. She was always so friendly and remembered our drink orders. We enjoyed every drink that we tried and we will definitely return to this resort in the future!

Our experience at EPM was once again outstanding and it was due to the efforts of the folks below who made our trip memorable. As long time Diamond status, it truly continues to feel like the EPM service of “old” and that was due to this team. We are already planning our next trip back! Jaqueline Zacarias, Guest Service Manager who guided our complete experience. She continues to go above and beyond as an ambassador for Excellence. Cristina Montes, Hospitality Desk Agent who was so helpful in assisting us in making our arrangements. No small task! José Acosta and Allen Carvajal, servers in Magna breakfast and Oregano who both made our service delightful. Magna Chef Misael who once again provided us with an awesome memory. Cesar Montalvo, Beach Club concierge who constantly checked on us and kept us informed. Jonathan, Excellence club desk who was very helpful in making sure our stay was enjoyable. Jorge, Excellence club bartender, who enjoys making drinks with a flair to start the evening off right. Cesar, Excellence lobby bartender (whoo! Whoo!), who always makes sure you are having a good time. Yessica, Excellence club pool 8 server, who was always there and prompt with our order. Hipolito, server in Agave, who guided us in our selections and made our dinner fun. Anyi and Isable, servers in the Sports Bar, who brightened up the room and were always checking on us. Diego, lobby bellman, who never forgets a face and is always asking how he can be of assistance. Thank you all!
