We loved our honeymoon to Secrets Vallarta Bay! We went in June 2024 and had a swim out room in the preferred club tower. As an LGBTQ couple, we felt incredibly welcomed the entire time. Our butlers Carlos Miranda and Jose Becerra were fantastic and made sure everything was taken care of during our stay. We enjoyed breakfast each morning at the market buffet. We sat in Adrian’s section and he was so attentive to our needs and remembered what our drink preferences were. There were ample lunch and dinner options with the Mexican option being our favorite. The bars were fantastic and they kept the drinks flowing. We especially appreciated that they served us right at our swim out room. One of the main highlights of our stay was our visit to the spa. We had a 2.5 hour couples massage and hydrotherapy that was well worth the money. We would definitely visit again!

Paying for an all inclusive resort was a completely new experience but definitely one I will be trying again. Staying in the preferred club was very new but it made us feel welcome. Shoutout to Carlos Miranda and Jose Becerra for always looking out for us and whatever we needed while at the resort. We could literally ask them anything and we’d get help immediately, making our trip that much more memorable. If anyone ever needs a butler at this resort, make sure to ask for Carlos cuz he’s so on top of it.

Where do I start?? This place is AMAZING!! We have been to this resort 5 or 6 times over the last 2 years and it never disappoints. The property is a very short taxi ride from the Aeropuerto, and the drivers are always very friendly.($22) The location is perfect. Quick taxi to shopping malls, or to the center of town. Taxi ride back to aeropuerto is $8. You can walk off property and walk around the shops nearby. Let's start off with the property. It is always clean and well manicured. I will say that I was sad to see that due to the water shortage, they are unable to water their plants on a regular basis and much of the beautiful greenery has died. But they are doing their best with what they are allotted. Even the water feature in the main Lobby is low. Check in- is fast and easy. We used the UVC office, as we are members, but the Preferred Club check in is just as quick. (I've never used the "regular check in desk, but I would assume it is just as fast.) Forgot to mention the champagne welcome toast & cool towel upon arrival. Our bags were checked and we were free to wonder the property, after check in. Dress comfortable and bring your swim suit in your backpack so you can get started with having a good time. Rooms- Every room has a view- partial or full ocean view and the bottom 2 floors are more pool/garden view, all the 1st floor rooms have swim-outs. This time we stayed on the 6th floor, perfect pool & ocean view. Room is always clean and well stocked. If we are lacking ANYTHING, we just make a call and it is taken care of. Shout-out to Yareth, she was our Room Service Attendant and she did not miss a beat. If I wanted something extra, I would leave her a note and it was taken care of. Turn down service was great, we normally came back to our room after 9pm. Food- We love the Buffet for Breakfast and Lunch. Really great variety. many times we will eat breakfast at Oceana, but we passed on that this time around. Buffet is much faster and again, variety is everything. And we love Adrain. Adrian became our waiter of choice since the first visit. He is very kind and gentle & very attentive. Each visit we make here, we always request his "area", He remembers our choices and dislikes and we never even have to ask, he is always one step ahead. When he is not available, we make sure and get a table with Wendy, as he trained her and she is also an amazing Wait person. We choose a different Restaurant every night. And then repeat the ones we enjoy the most. We were celebrating our Anniversary this trip. And when I say we were treated like Royalty. We were treated like we were very special. I can't say enough of our "Personal Concierge, Butler, Personal Assistant " what ever title she holds, she is our Friend. Ms Nirvana. Nirvana has been taking care of us like family since our 2nd visit to this resort. Nirvana has always given us the best service and is one of the main reasons we keep coming back to this location. She takes care of every little thing we need. Each night at dinner, we were presented with a special Anniversary Dessert. It was amazing. On our actual anniversary we ate at Bordeaux. The meal was beyond amazing. Alfonso was our waiter and did an amazing job. We have had him as our waiter many times and he never disappoints. Chef Jose Luis- hats off to you sir, you are the best. Our Dinner at Caper's was Amazing as well, Chef Joya, your meal was Perfecto! Francisco, our waiter was the perfect waiter. Our Asian food night was Good. Joaquin was our waiter. There was a slight mis-communication with preparation of the steak, but that was quickly remedied. The Mexican food was good, Our server was a little slow and slightly uncaring, but the food was enjoyed.I love guacamole and the table side preparation is a wonderful plus, as you can add or minus ingredients. We rented a Bali bed for our 3rd and 4th day. When we arrived the bed was scantly made and no extra towels.(I say this because when you receive great service over and over, you come to expect it each time.) We had no bar service for over an hour. And when he did come, he only came 4-5 times for the whole day. Never asked if we wanted to order lunch. We always tip in the beginning, and again in the end if the service is great. needless to say, there was no final tip. We decided to cancel the Bali bed for our 2nd day. Also just to note, the resort was not at high capacity. When there are over half the beach chairs untouched and about the same empty chairs at the pool, you know there are not a lot of people there. And this was for the entire stay. (loved it) We spend most of our nights in the main lobby. The waitress's here are hit or miss. Ivette was very good. She came around often, was very pleasant and quick. She would also bring us bar snacks. Spa- So normally, as a UVC member, we receive a Hydro-Therapy session, but a past guest messed that up for everyone and now no one receives them (So I was told by a UVC rep). I did decide to do a massage. Booking was easy. I booked 80 min Tension Release Massage, a Fit and Trim Detox Scrub, Hydro-Therapy & Gel Polish removal. I had never been so relaxed, I laid in a lounge chair, she gave me a cool towel over my eyes & I think cucumbers? No harsh chemicals she filed the polish off. Thank you Carolina Franco for this wonderful experience. Next was the hydro. I opted out of the rooms and just did the water portion. I quickly showered before my massage. Orfinda was my masseuse. (I asked her to focus on my shoulders and neck and also area's of caution.) This massage was a little different than ANY massage I had ever received before and not in a good way. (I get massages every month at home) Anyway, about 15 mins into the session I asked her " What type of massage is this?" All she was doing was "rubbing" my body. I told her that I needed a little more pressure. 10minutes later, I tole her "I am going to have to ask you to stop, I've had many massages in my life and all you are doing is rubbing me." I then told her if this is what a tension release massage is like, then I want to switch to a deep tissue. So she changed up a little but still a rubbing session and I was done by this time. No amount of complaining was going to fix her. She then proceeded to apply the body scrub. I was not impressed by this service or the person performing it. 80 mins for the massage and 25 mins for Scrub.(+1hr45mins) The whole session was 1hr and 22 mins and that was with entering the room, showering after the scrub and leaving the spa. I still tipped her as I know the workers rely on tips. Fernando from UVC is an amazing human being. Very kind and listens well. Also shout out to Paloma in the Wedding Dept. I wanted a tour of the property as we have decided to renew our vows here in 2 years and I wanted to see the options available. She was able to take time out of a busy week and show me the options. I look forward to working with her in the near future. The only cons I can think of are.. I'm sad that the foliage is dying. I loved the greenery all around and it will take time to grow back. And one more. Why doesn't Preferred club have seating out side the lobby? Every Secrets I've been to has outdoor seating, but this one does not. You have a whole ass patio with no where to sit. A few sofa's chairs and tables would be an big plus here. And bring back the bags of chips you use to put out at lunch time. Final note- This has become our favorite location. First and foremost for the Service that ALL the employees provide. Yes there are a few that need more training, or so it seems, but everyone has a bad day. If it wasn't for people like Nirvana Preferred Club, Yareth-PC room attendant, Adrian and Wendy-Market Cafe, Francisco, Alfonso, Joaquin-amazing waiters, Ivette-lounge/lobby waitress, and Chef Jose Luis & Chef Joya, we would probably still be looking for a "favortite place." Everyone we encounter is amazing. Keep up the good work These people are the reasons we come back here, time after time. See you all in Dec 2024.
