Hubby and I stayed at the Hotel Krystal Puerto Vallarta Nov/Dec of 2023. I meant to write a review earlier! It was a great stay. Truly a central location on the beach, with access to taxis and city buses right at the hotel. We get very relaxed at this hotel resort, and don't feel a need to leave the place on most days, as we spend all our time lounging at the beach. There are also pools and hot tubs. The grounds are extensive and very conducive to morning or evening walks. The grounds are lush with palm trees and plants and flowers, and are meticulously maintained. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, and always available to help or answer questions. We enjoy the food and drink at the various restaurants and bars here, and enjoy all the staff members' friendliness as well! We can walk to a local grocery store, though there is a mini market at the resort, or to shopping centers and banks really close by, or to the Walmart for miscellaneous items. Before leaving, we made our reservations for this coming Nov/Dec! Can't wait to be there again!

Overall we would have to say we were disappointed in this resort. The price we paid had us expecting a great resort but the reality was a let down. There was some pro’s for sure. Beach was great, our room location and view was very nice. The property is big and has great potential. Pools were pretty decent but lacking in seats for the number of guest in the resort. If you did not have a pool spot saved by 8:00-8:30 in the morning you were not going to have one for the entire day. The bathrooms around the pool we’re disgusting even by 8:00 in the morning, clearly not cleaned properly. Food was adequate but average at best. Selection did not change for the week we were there. Both Ala Carte restaurants were closed but this was not mentioned or disclosed when we booked so it was a very basic buffet or nothing. Many dishes were slow to be replenished. There was no pool service for drinks and the bar always had a long line-up. Room service was very poor, 3 of our 7 days they did not even show up. The remaining days we often did not get water or towels. When we called to request them they agreed but still did not provide them. AC did not work in one of our two room, we asked to have it repaired but they never did. There was little to no activities, nightlife, or places to go after dinner. The resort is tired and not well kept. Lots of construction going on all day every day. Our recommendation is don’t do it! There are much better reports for the money.
