“February, 2025”
Once again a great experience, great location, great staff, clean hotel. We have already booked for next year. The only disappointment is that they have taken away the free light breakfast for the people that prebook through the hotel. Rob

Because I left rebooking too late, we were unable to return to Hotel Rosita this winter, so we opted to stay at the "daughter hotel" Hotel El Pescador for six weeks from mid-January to the end of February 2025. We were happy to discover that the same "Rosita Family" spirit exists at both establishments! Certainly, we missed the spaciousness of the ocean-view suite that we had enjoyed at Hotel Rosita, but our spotless room at Hotel El Pescador was very pleasant with two queen-sized beds, a single night table, a small bench which we used as an extra bedside table, a decent-sized refrigerator, a bathroom with modern fixtures including a walk-in shower, a room-safe, a desk with a sturdy chair and a balcony view of both the pool and the ocean beyond. Kudos to the Hotel El Pescador staff who were very willing to accommodate some special requests for our extended stay. We really appreciated the delivery to our room of a large chest of drawers and a dozen extra hangers, so that we didn't have to live out of a suitcase for six weeks! During our sojourn, we were pleasantly surprised with additional upgrades: a new television, two new mattresses and a new mirror. Special thanks and appreciation are extended to our chamber maid, Elizabeth, who cheerfully kept our room clean, tidy and well-stocked with towels and toiletries...gracias! The only negative with our room was the ongoing malodorous sewer gas emanating from the shower drain. I don't know how this issue could be alleviated by management--our temporary solution was to keep our bathroom door closed so that we only had to endure the smell while using the bathroom facilities. We loved swimming in the saltwater pool, but, unless we woke up at the crack of dawn and claimed a space with beach towels, it was a real challenge to find an open chaise lounge poolside (which were incredibly uncomfortable because they are too low for anyone with mobility issues) or one of the few available Adirondack chairs for sitting under one of the shade tents. As the regular clientele is ageing, with more guests wanting to remain outside at the hotel during the day instead of going off-site into town, there is a definite need for additional comfortable courtyard seating--those horrible, cheap, white plastic lawn chairs are completely unsuitable for anyone who is short in stature! Although my husband and I enjoyed dining out at the surfeit of excellent 5 de Diciembre neighbourhood restaurants, we frequented the Hotel El Pescador restaurant for many breakfasts (we've heard a rumour that you are discontinuing the complimentary continental breakfast vouchers--a real pity!), lunches and suppers. We were a little bit surprised to discover that the restaurant menu is identical to that of the Rosita Hotel and that the menu offerings have not changed since our first stay at the Rosita in 2015! Nonetheless, we enjoyed all meals produced by the Hotel El Pescador kitchen. Special thanks to the hotel restaurant chef for accommodating special meal requests to our room when I was indisposed with tummy upset for a few days. In fact, every member of the restaurant staff was wonderful (!!!) with Ingrid, Carmen, Danya, Leopoldo, Alejandro, Andrea and Aliana being specially attentive. Although Wifi is available at Hotel El Pescador, there were many "dead" spots (including a four-foot radius from the walls of our hotel room) frequently losing the connection, making it extremely difficult to use the Internet during the daytime. In fact, I could only be confident in connecting to the Wifi from midnight to 6:00 a.m. This was very frustrating! Thank you to the reception staff at Hotel El Pescador--we appreciated your expertise and knowledge and competence. All service was rendered with a smile! Certainly, the many pluses outweighed the few minuses that we experienced at this hotel! All-in-all, we enjoyed our six-week residency at Hotel El Pescador and look forward to returning next winter.

“Sr Carlos Martin ”
Great hotel, wonderful staff and a good beachfront location at the north end of the Malecon! The oceanfront balconies are a little tight, but with a little positioning it turned out to be a nice spot to sit and enjoy a little reading. The beds are comfortable and the ductless AC worked quietly

“Out one night stay at El Pescador in Puerto Vallarta had good value for the money. Best part was the staff & ocean view”
The pillows were very flat and bed was hard. Bath towels were provided but no small towel for the sink. Our room had a wonderful ocean view. Staff were wonderful, food from the kitchen was ample but some items came out cold. We would stay again at the Pescador and recommend it for a short stay.

The room was adequate however we would have preferred to have a room with an ocean view a refrigerator in it or at least access to an location ice machine rather than have to buy ice at the local OXXO store every couple of days. The light breakfast in the dining room was again adequate we found the service quite slow so visited your sister hotel Rosita where the service appeared to be better. The location of the hotel to the Mallicon and the beach is why we booked here however the building itself could use a little TLC.
