I had an amazing experience! The room set up was perfect! The pools are so relaxing and the customer service is fantastic. Everyone has been overly accommodating. Natalia truly made this a fun, memorable experience with the pool side games! She was excellent!!!

Excellent stay in the hotel especially the Joy Squad. Miriam, Carlos, Maria, Mizrain and Irma. Great activities and music. The overall service was very good. Good service and make you feel very welcome in Puerto Vallarta. Will come back for sure.

My husband & I went to the Mayan Palace in the Marina in Puerto Vallarta May 2024 for our 40th anniversary. We have been members of Vidanta for about 20 years. We had upgraded in Nov 2023 and we were given a free Master Room week in the Marina ( we had never stayed at this location before). When we got to our room, we were not happy to be given 2 double beds and we immediately asked if we could have a room with a king bed. We were told that there weren't any rooms with king beds available. They pushed the beds together, but of course there's an uncomfortable gap in the middle. We checked again the next morning (after other people checked out) and were told the same. We asked if we could upgrade and pay the difference to a 1 Bedroom Suite because all of the suites automatically have king size beds. To make a long story short, we ended up having to call Reservations (I think) but were told that because we were "given" the week, we'd have to pay for a whole reservation (US$1400) and not just an upgrade (US$250). I must say that the staff at the resort that were trying to help us were great, but their hands were tied. We went in May - the place was a ghost town! I simply can't believe that there weren't any rooms available when there were only maybe 20% capacity booked. Obviously this put a huge damper on our whole experience there and I can't understand why they wouldn't allow an upgrade at a reasonable price. That all being said, this was the first time at this Vidanta location (we usually have gone to the Nuevo location and have also gone to their Mayan Riveria & Acapulco ones). This is Vidanta's first resort and so it was quite dated, but everything was very clean though. The room didn't even have 2 chairs to sit on. Although it's in the marina, it does have a small beach area. We like to get up early and go for a long walk on the beach, but that wasn't an option here. Something to keep in mind if you have young children, the water drops off fairly quickly in comparison to Nuevo. There are multiple pools though. The resort is on the small side, but then it also makes it easier to find each other, unlike the Nuevo one which you could get lost in. One of the best things about this resort was the location. Within a 5 minute walk, we were able to go to many shops and restaurants (200) and so it had more of a "Mexico" feel compared to staying on a mega resort. Because of this, we opted to walk off site to try some of the local restaurants and felt that we got better value for our money regarding meals and drinks. The staff were all very good.
