Our very first AI experience and very first trip to Mexico - couldn’t have been better !! We booked Velas Vallarta at last minute ( literally 2 days before our trip !) . Right from answering all my questions about vegetarian food to accommodating our room requests ( adjacent as we are a family of 5 with teen kids ) the reps before our travel put our minds at ease ! We booked VIP travel for airport pickup through the resort ( though it was expensive about $90) and we did it because it’s our first trip to Mexico , otherwise Uber would have worked just well ( for about $20) . We didn’t mind it for the peace of mind and safety ! Now about our stay - Thank you to everyone of the staff from Hector to Fernando to Manuel , Eduardo, Martin ( and many more including the very sweet housekeeping ladies that took of every request we had !) to the activity staff Hanniah who led us on an( almost private walking tour to the Malcon as nobody else signed up ! Which was the best ) . Special shout out to Hector & team from Andrea restaurant ( and to the reps at Mexican fiesta dinner !) for surprising my twins withe cake & candle to celebrate their birthday ! & Indeed we are so happy we booked this last minute trip around their birthday to experience something different & chose Velas Vallarta ! & the hotel staff went far & beyond our expectations in making our first visit to Mexico very memorable ! It was indeed a 5-star restaurant and honestly the attention to detail in every aspect of food was very much noticeable . Kids splurged on desserts & dishes and it was a true culinary adventure for our family though we are vegetarians. They were willing to customize every dish to meet our needs . Couldn’t ask for more ! Though the checkout was at 11am, they let us hang around in the gardens & lobby & also have our lunch before catching Uber to airport at 2 pm. Glad I chose PVR for this trip though I was searching in Cancun initially . PVR has its unique tropical feel with mountains & oceans like Hawaii . The resort grounds has peacock to iguanas to green lizard and koi @ duck families in the ponds !! Amazing serene setting too. We will definitely recommend this resort to anybody that fall in our category - family with teen that value safety & reputable resort verified for families - plus those that enjoy doing varied activities such as tennis , gym, basketball, family nights ( blackjack , karaoke ,dancing night, etc) and NOT just sit in the pool the whole day :) If we ever want to do AI again , it will be no doubt PVR & Velas Vallarta ! We had a fantastic stay at Velas Vallarta. We took advantage of the activities offered at the resort and they did not disappoint. Christian and Kevin went above and beyond, making every activity so much fun such as ping pong tournaments, water volleyball, water aerobics, and arts and crafts. We also loved the morning yoga. The yoga instructor is very knowledgeable, leading classes that are both fun and challenging. He inspired us to continue yoga now that we are back home! Our suite was beautiful with a large balcony and stunning view. It was very spacious and cleaned well every day. The fridge and snacks were restocked each day as well. The bed was very comfy and we never heard loud noises even though our room was right next to the elevator. Unfortunately, we did not get into the ocean as the red and purple flags were up during our entire stay. No one was swimming in the water and there was no lifeguard present, so we did not risk it. We did however enjoy the cabanas alongside the water. Also, the pools were massive and such a delight, the water was so nice and warm! We stayed in the pool hours at a time. The aqua bar is a fun place to grab a drink, and we took advantage of the poolside service for lunch most days. The burgers and floutas are delicious!! A recommendation would be higher quality beverages. For example, the orange juices/smoothies tasted more artificial opposed to being made with fresh fruit. However, we still enjoyed the fresa coladas, mango daiquiris, and micheladas! We had breakfast each day at Andrea. Breakfast was delicious each day, we ordered everything from French toast to chilaquiles. The staff is extremely kind and go above and beyond. The dinner menu rotates at Ribera and Andrea each night. We did not want to stray far into international cuisine during our stay so we did not have dinner at Andrea. Instead, we dined at Ribera each night which we actually preferred given that Ribera is beach side. It has such a beautiful ambiance with its setting and ocean sounds. Multiple nights there was live music and mariachi which we loved. All the performers are so talented! We were always able to find seating poolside, find a cabana beachside, and get a table at Ribera and Andrea. The Mexican fiesta was also a highlight. Amazing service, fun decor, massive buffet, and such a lively evening. Overall, we had an amazing 5 night stay and can’t wait to be back. Thank you Velas Vallarta and staff!

I’ve stayed here for more weeks than I can count (20+) over the years. Large enough for many amenities and options. Small enough that many of the staff will remember your names and favorites through the week. Many remember us from year to year. Some of the most comfortable beds across the globe. High quality food and service. Quiet beach with cabanas and bar service. Same at the many pool sun-loungers. Also tables and loungers with shade. I’ve never had a problem finding open seats. They are currently updating their rooms again, but quietly. In the private marina area where a 7 min walk gets you to many additional shops and restaurants amid multi-million dollar yachts. Only 5 minutes from the airport. 20 minute taxi to Centro and the Malecon
