Great little hotel to get away from it all. If you like privacy this. Is perfect. You can walk to the more touristy beach from the room fight around the corner, maybe 50 yards. Food on the beach was excellent and plentiful. Room not much to it, kinda small no furniture, just a desk chair. But the balcony was nice with good views,( 2 chairs & hammock). This is the first hotel that I could set the a/c to whatever I wanted. Yes my room was at 66° everyday. Shower was plenty hot, but literally had a cheap shower head. No bar or restaurant here. Bring your own drinks to the pool. Golf carts rental is 1 block down, which makes for an easy return. Front desk personal was excellent. This hotel is being refurbished as I write. So if your very picky, look elsewhere. Me personally it did not affect my stay at all. The pool is small, but excellent layout and very clean with a great tropical vibe. Big question is would I stay here again? Going solo or even with someone, a Big Yes, this place will be hard to beat for the money and the location. Looking forward to coming back to this hidden gem.

I realize it's hard to go by reviews, but I wish I had listened to the other reviews that did not give this place the best rating. It was okay and not the worst place I've ever stayed. Here were some of the issues I had: when I arrived the front desk seemed like I didn't have a reservation until I showed them my phone. Then they started to take us upstairs but we had paid extra to book a bungalow. We ended up seeing two different bungalow rooms - One of them that we should have had had not been cleaned, and it was vetoed; The other had a TV that had not been upgraded since the '90s and some of the lights did not work. Finally they put us in the best room which was the honeymoon suite and honestly not all that awesome. The lamps had not been dusted and the window shade in the bathroom was fraying. The shower head was cheap and the water pressure was not great. There was a Jacuzzi in this room, but with the lack of water pressure I'm not sure that we would have been able to fill it up before the water would have become cold. Honestly, after seeing the pictures on the website, I felt very disappointed with the room we received, despite it being an upgrade. Because the hotel was under construction, I think that made it a lot less charming. Also, the beach views are blocked by foliage and gates. The pool area was quite nice. In short, I think this hotel is in the process of making upgrades to the facility, but at the moment it is less than stellar, especially when you see the pictures they have on their website. I feel like you can always judge a hotel by the towels provided. We only had bath towels and pool towels. There were no hand towels or washcloths, and I understand that outside the US you may not get washcloths but usually you do get hand towels.

Beach-front and it’s a place to sleep If you’re on a budget traveller and would like to be in the beach front and beautiful side of Isla Mujeres, this resort is for you. We recently stayed at Villa Kiin for ten days and here is my review: Pros: - Beach front and you’re a few steps away from the white sands and beautiful part of Isla Mujeres. I enjoyed my morning walks infront of Guru Beach Club before it gets busy. - They have a swimming pool and my son enjoyed it! They also have a nice garden with lots of coconut trees that is perfect for that IG-worthy pictures. - Very nice front desk clerks and approachable. - The room gets cleaned everyday. - Small fridge in the room with ice cube trays. - AC that works. - Walking distance to restaurants and beach clubs. - Clean grounds and lobby area. Cons: - Stayed at Room No. 6 and it’s a very small room but has a nice big bed which was comfortable. - Sometimes, I can smell the sewer smell coming from the bathroom. - I noticed some dusts in the bed posts and lamps. Bring your own wipes! - They don’t provide small face towels. - There is no wifi in the rooms or in the pool area. You have to go to the lobby to use their wifi. I bought myself an Airalo eSim. Cost me $30 USD for 4 GB. I wouldn’t mind paying Villa Kiin extra for wifi for convenience. Would I go back there? Probably yes when I’m on a tight budget again but I will pick the Pakal rooms.
