“Kids Club is awesome”

The kids club is amazing. All the workers, but especially Melissa and Daniela, are really great with the kids and keep them entertained. The pools and food at the resort are great as well. We always felt safe around and outside the report. Hoping we can make it back next year!

“New year's family getaway”

The staff worked very hard to host the outdoor new year's dinner and the mexican night . The mexican entertainment was excellent. The town's were very safe and the locals were very welcoming. The drive up to Pluma Hidalgo was filled with adventure and ended with some beautiful vistas.

Privilege room view excellent. We were close to the elevator, so my husband who struggles with arthritis in his hips didn't have far to go. The adult only pool was well cared for and very quiet. It was fun watching the archers shoot while we were poolside. The beach was a nice walk and the water was warm and lots of fish could be seen - small rays, sargeant majors, jacks, various wrasse, some angel fish. My kids had a room near the quiet adult pool as did the friends that joined us. Both really liked the hot tubs on the balcony. We booked a private boat through the air canada rep to do snorkelling and see some of the bays. It was worth every penny. If you can ask for Memo and the Antares. Definitely 5 star service. Didn't care much for the food other than the lemon tarts and coconut cake. It was perfectly edible and in sufficient quantities, it was just okay. (It didn't compare to Sian Ka'an - which was the last Mexican resort we stayed at). The service and care the staff put in is phenomenal. They all deserve raises. Shout out to the entertainment staff running the aquafit, the staff at the beach, the wait staff that attended the adult pool and especially housekeeping that kept our room immaculate. Thank-you all for a lovely vacation.

We stayed at Dreams over Christmas and New Years as a family. Our kids are young adults so we had 2 rooms. The positive things about this resort include the staff who are all amazing, helpful, friendly and keep the resort common areas very clean. We had preferred club rooms with an ocean view that were large and well appointed. The pools are great with choices for families, activities, quiet spaces, sun and shade. The beach is gorgeous with a long sandy area (least hilly in the bay), calm, clear blue water and fantastic snorkeling along the rocky edge. We saw sting rays, puffer fish and many others fish every day. The entertainment at the resort was great. Live music, fantastic huge meals set up by staff ( Christmas Eve and new years were amazing) and the staff worked endlessly to decorate the square for each event. Some of the less fantastic elements of the resort - the preferred club isn’t much of a perk. Checking in and out you have a concierge which is nice but they don’t do anything else for your stay. There is a beach concierge who confirms you are part of the preferred club to Access The designated space on the beach and they have orange towels for you when you arrive - just for club members to use. However there doesn’t seem to be anything else they provide. The preferred lounge is far from everything else at the resort and although we ate there sometimes or popped in for a drink as the best liquor brands were there, the staff wasn’t very welcoming. The concierge each time was on the computer or making calls ( not talking just dialing and having the phone ring on speaker). The bartender was okay. I struggled with any mixed drinks as the mix or juice had sugar alternatives (aspartame or another) which I am sensitive to. However. The largest issue at the resort is the food. There is only buffet options for breakfast and lunch which is unexpected a a luxury resort. The food was Very poor, dry bread. Overcooked meat. Things reused until Stale. The big dinners (Christmas and new years) were fantastic and it was like the food was recycled until used or rotten afterwards. The food handling really needs work, we saw staff touch garbage bins then handle food, dip Cups dipped in soapy water and reused. 3 of the 5 of us were ill from the food. We all lost weight on the trip which isn’t easy to do at an all inclusive! Our children’s room had issues with their mini bar not being refilled ( they would try early in am yet we were next door and had them come later) and neither room had turn down as they arrived every time while we were getting ready for dinner (between 6-7) and just passed us some extra towels. Chair saving is annoying but happens. As always if resorts gave each guest a clip Or rock to pop on a chair to save their (1) place and had enough chairs for all guests available, that issue would go away easily. I was more annoyed with the signing out of towels. Why do I need to sign them out? Being told I could only have 2 for no reason when other times I accessed 4. The beach chairs are hard and have no cushion so a towel behind your back or neck is helpful. The hotel really needs a Reno, although clean it is very worn in places with broken tiles, damaged walls and other signs of wear being obvious. It’s a quiet hotel and the lounge opened at 11, it is in the basement and smells musty - the kids accessed it but I went once and had no interest in it. The water sports and other activity at the hotel are very random- the towel area had some Items you could access and others were by the water. It was hard to know who the staff were and who was selling additional water sports at the beach. Often kids were playing basketball ball right in the walkway to the pool (why they don’t use the square I don’t know) and the pickleball court was right behind the pool chairs as well. My kids were told they couldn’t access items 30 Min before they closed for the day often. However the kids club looked like A blast so younger kids seemed to have a lot of fun at the resort. We have stayed at Dreams before and found this resort lacking in food handling and options, and the resort is quite dated.
