Fantastic hotel, great service. We felt so welcome. Very clean. You can walk to the center and take a navette to the beach. The teatro is near and with the cable lift you can visit isola bella. So everything is close. There is a pastry shop a little further down the road. Go there! We will go back to Taormina and to hotel Splendid.

“A truly superb hotel restaurant.”

Normally we try to avoid hotel restaurants simply because usually better eating places can be found in the local areas. However, this hotel was the exception to the rule. The restaurant offering on the fifth floor was absolutely first rate. Eating the chefs steaks while looking out over the bay was one of the highlights of our time in Taormina. If you stay in the Splendid, make sure to experience their offerings - otherwise I guarantee you stay will be incomplete.

We absolutely loved this hotel! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We had a great check in experience with a female staff member- we never got her name but she was really friendly and provided all information upon check in. We dealt with a few different reception staff during our stay and all were lovely to deal with. Staff at the pool bar and at breakfast were very pleasant also. Regarding the rooms, we had a sea view room with a balcony and it was absolutely fabulous- the view was out of this world! As mentioned in other reviews, yes the balcony is small but we found we had sufficient room to sit out on it comfortable and admire the view! The room itself was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. Our room was at the front of the hotel but we were never bothered by noise and slept very well during our seven night stay. The rooms were cleaned daily and to a high standard. The pool area is beautiful, and there are fantastic views from it! There aren’t an awful lot of sun loungers but we usually managed to find somewhere to sit, although we generally only visited the pool later in the day, after a day of exploring the area. Towels are also provided which is really handy. There is also a little bar at the pool which is really nice. The only complaint about the pool area is actually to do with other guests, rather than the staff. Many people would leave the pool area and leave their towel lying on the sun bed rather than putting it in the basket provided! In fairness to the staff, they were very good at removing towels when they were sure people had left, and putting fresh towels folded on top of free chairs/loungers which made it clear that these were available. However, it was sometimes difficult to keep track of, and it’s not difficult to put your towels into the basket, and it would be great if guests could be mindful of each other by doing this! We only ate breakfast in the hotel, but both the choice and quality were excellent. The location is another huge benefit of the hotel. It is a few minutes walk to the centre, but in a quiet and peaceful location which meant we always got a great night’s sleep! Overall, this is an absolutely brilliant hotel which offers great value for money and we would highly recommend it

Two night stay at the Splendid and looking back wish we had done 1 more night. First off the 2 gentleman working the front desk were extremely helpful and polite. Quick map of the city to get our bearings, valet service for the car and restaurant recommendations. It’s been a while since we’ve had that good of a front desk experience. Great location. The rooms were clean , comfortable and well stocked. The breakfast buffet had everything you could ask for. The pool area and bar was very relaxing with incredible views. It was a great part of our trip and I can’t stress enough just how good the customer experience was.
