A clean and modern hotel, quite clinical in appearance, all white with very limited colour. I stayed as part of a group tour and was in room 302. Balcony was in the shade for most of the day but you did have a bit of a sea view if you stood in the corner. Tea and coffee provided in the room which was great, not common in all European hotels. A short walk to the main square in Letojanni where you can take the bus into Taormina. Staff were lovely and very helpful and the breakfast was great with freshly squeezed orange juice and a wide selection. I especially liked the availabilty of different cheeses. The only downside was the evening meal which wasn't great but the drinks weren't too expensive. Excellent wifi.

All you would want in a hotel: large room, good bedding, nice bathroom with excellent shower, good proper bed for our teenage daughter (not a sofa bed), tea/coffee facilities (rare in Italy), good balcony. We had a room at the back with a view to the back street, probably because we bought a package with EasyJet. The breakfast is excellent but the food at the restaurant for dinner can be a hit and miss. Sometimes there was an awfully strong sewage smell from the bathroom. I reckon this is due to the heavy rain. We found that closing the bathroom door is enough to keep the bad smell from the room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Albatros Beach, booked through Jet2. Our room, 322, was bright, spacious, clean & comfortable & had a front seat view as opposed to a side view. Breakfast was good, my husband was able to have bacon, egg & sausage & I enjoyed yoghourt & muesli plus there were many delicious pastries to choose from. The staff at breakfast are pleasant & work tirelessly to keep everything topped up & clean. The hotel is extremely well located in the relaxed town of Letojanni. The beach is just across the road. There are many good restaurants, Victor's just left out of the hotel was our favourite. There is an excellent small bar the Manhattan tucked away in Via Francesco Durante which does great G&Ts plus snacks for just 9 euro. We used the local Interbus for trips to Taormina, Castelmola, Forza d'Agro & Savoca - all excellent excursions. We caught the train to Giarre Riposta to catch the Ferrovia Circumetnea around Etna. Small niggles with the hotel which stopped me giving it top marks are that the balconies are very narrow & you can just about sit in the chair without being squashed. Also they lack privacy, we weren't too bad but we could look down at the adjacent balcony & almost touch it. Fortunately, no-one used it during our stay. Secondly, while we were there a number of largish tour groups stayed for a few nights & some were quite noisy. Particularly, one group who insisted on shouting across the balconies to each other. That said I would still recommend this hotel & if we ever return to Letojanni I would stay there again.

“Honest review”

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel. (Oct 24) In arrival it appeared very nice & the wife even commented “wow baby, this is lovely “. We have just returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel. (Oct 24) In arrival it appeared very nice & the wife even commented “wow baby, this is lovely “. We were greeted nicely & given our room cards. We went to our room & thought it was basic but pleasant & had a nice side view of the ocean. There were items in the fridge that we did not partake in many & the snacks on the side we only had a couple. Within minutes of being in our room we went into the bathroom to freshen up & the towel holder by the sink fell off - it looked like someone had tried to glue it on as you can see in the picture. We reported it to the staff but nothing happened! Being British we like our tea & coffee & the amount left for a couple was totally inadequate & ran out after 1 cup each! We did request some extra from the reception & were looked at like we had asked for the contents of the safe but 2 coffee pods & 2 creams were brought up to our room (still inadequate but better than nothing). It was replaced in the morning but we did ask for more on our return after going out in the evening. This time we asked for sugar too & when it came to the room we received 2 coffee pods, 1 cream & 2 toothpicks!! To be honest, when the lady came to clean our room we asked her for more & we had to take some sugar from the restaurant otherwise we wouldn’t have any. My wife said one of the waitresses saw me & for the remaining days of our stay, the staff kept looking at us like I’d stolen the Crown Jewels!! The food was “different ”! It may be an alacarte restaurant but sometimes there was absolutely NOTHING on the menu we liked so dined out - I did try most of the pastas which were very tasty & I even ate swordfish. I must admit, I loved the pastry with fruits. Breakfast was poor. Yoghurts, toast, cereals & fruits were ok but the “bacon” was always greasy & dry & the scrambled egg was like something out of the quatermass experiment & always soggy & wet. I got charged for eating a packet of peanuts but no reimbursement for not liking anything on the menu! I’m afraid that this hotel, to me, seems to be catering to the well off posher pensioners who like that sort of food & environment but we didn’t. Letojanni is a lovely quaint area where you have to search the backstreets to find shops for items you need & we didn’t meet one person we didn’t like & all were very pleasant & helpful We went on the hop on hop off bus with “Mario” the driver who was very nice & helpful & took us to the port of Naxos & to be honest if we went again we would probably stay there.
