Great hotel stopped for a week in September which is classed as low season but the hotel was really busy with the majority of the guests italian, we had a sea view room and it was perfect with great views of the sea and the sunset, the staff were all very polite and tried their best to help us when we needed it , the food is perfectly fine with at least 3 or 4 meals on a evening to choose from you can also ask to swap your evening meal to lunch which allows you to to go to Cefalu for a night out if you want , the breakfast was a bit bland with the same items on every morning and it's luck of the draw if the eggs are hot or cold, the hotel runs a bus into Cefalu which you can either pay on the bus for a single or pay at the info desk for a return, be aware if you miss the last bus home it will cost you 25euros for a taxi home a minibus for 8 people will be 35euros the hotel also runs a free shuttle bus to the beach which takes you to a private part of the beach for Costa verde guests only with free beds and parasols, the beach is course sand and stones but the sea is lovely. Cefalu is well worth a visit but it does get busy highlights include cathedral, you must also try a arancine ball which are delicious, back to the hotel the pool area has plenty of sun lounge at anytime of the day only bit of criticism would be the pool is really cold and never seems to warm up, we went to Palermo on the train which is very easy to do as the hotel bus drops you at the station , when in Palermo I would advise to use a hop on/off bus or mini train which takes you to all the sights and saves alot of walking in the heat, Sicily has been everything I had imagined it would be and I would like to think I will return sooner rather than later

This big hotel is set in the hillside overlooking the sea on the edge of the old seaside town of Cefalu. It's a large sprawling hotel, kept immaculate clean with teams of maintenance staff keeping things in order day and night. There are two swimming pools a lovely quieter infinity pool and a more lively children's and entertainment pool.lots of sun beds and deck chairs and no morning scramble! This hotel is 95% frequented by Italians so it's catered for their tastes and entertainment, so if you're a Brit looking for a Brit experience this is not the place for you! There are two board basis full board and all inclusive. Depending on your board type you are allocated a certain restaurant, we were full board so were dining in the top terrace restaurant with panoramic views of the sunset every evening making magical photo opportunities. The food is authenticly Italian, lots of fish, pasta meat and things we've never seen before.Fullbboard you get included free water and wine with your meals all other drinks are paid for via a smart bracelet you load with credit at reception. The rooms are basic but immaculate with, bathroom with shower, tv, fridge, balconies, and Aircon. There is no kids menu so your kids will have to find something they like from the buffet, there are no chicken nuggets, and chips are a rarity so if you have fussy eaters this is not an easy option! There's a free shuttle bus to the hotel beach which is well organised but the sea can get rough from time to time on this beach so swimming not always available. Swimming is much readily available at Cefalu beach which is gentler and there's a bus every hour or so into the town from outside reception and return to the town for a couple of euros. Cefalu town is quaint and authentically Sicilian with beautiful shops and cafes . There are excursions for trips you can book like boat trips and further afield to mount Etna etc. The aquapark which is right next door to the hotel is free every day for all inclusive and one free entry for full board. The aquapark is crazy busy in August (and you will struggle to hear an English conversation anywhere they didn't even speak English in the shop) There are long queues for the big slides and compulsory swim hats must be worn, I wasn't a fan as it was so busy but my son ( aged 12 ) loved it .There are lots of sunbeds , toilets and cafe , showers etc, the Italians pitch up with ice boxes and picnics and make a day of it. We arrived at opening at 9:30am and went back to the hotel for lunch at 1pm by which time my son had done most of the slides a few times and I'd been hit by waves in the main pool at least twice! Hotel Costa Verde is a fantastic place to stay if you are looking for something a bit different. It's clean, family orientated and authenticly Italian. I can't think of anything bad to say about it only the long transfer time from Catania airport was long at 2 hours 20minutes.

“Wonderful hotel! 10/10”

Absolutely brilliant hotel with the best food we’ve ever had! We were all inclusive and had meals in the other restaurants as part of our package which came as a nice break from the noise and heat of the main dining area. Absolutely brilliant hotel with the best food we’ve ever had! We were all inclusive and had meals in the other restaurants as part of our package which came as a nice break from the noise and heat of the main dining area. The drinks selection was good and wasn’t much different to the paying customers options. The water situation was a bit of a pain but we did fill up bottles from the dining area water and just made a few trips to the water station on the bar. We tipped the restaurant staff at the end of our visit and don’t see why you wouldn’t! Staff were friendly and helpful and we often had a laugh with them! Our balcony door wouldn’t lock and within two hours someone had been in to fix it. The information point staff were very helpful and spoke very good English. We greeted all staff in Italian and they really appreciate people trying! The room was spacious and clean, had a fridge, safe and drying rack on the balcony and a lovely sea view! The beach is so quiet and relaxing and was the best day we had! Free use of pedal boats and kayaks on the sea. Pools and views are stunning, the only time we had a problem getting sunbeds was when we had been out in the morning. The bus into Cefalù is easy and cheap and a lovely day out. The water park was fun for a few hours but as there’s only 5 decent slides it did become a bit repetitive, it seemed to be very busy on the weekend with the locals descending on the park. The transfer wasn’t too bad and went by quickly and was smoothly ran both ways. Tourist tax was €25 for us a couple. We had lunch out once at the water park and once in Cefalù (our choice to do something different) but other than that we wouldn’t have needed to spend any money. All in all a wonderful time and couldn’t recommend enough!

Hotel is very far from Catania airport and after our flight was changed we ended up checking in at 2am so bear this in mind when booking. Rooms were clean and spacious, hairdryer was fine for short hair but wouldn’t recommend for longer hair. Staff on the infopoint and reception desks were brilliant and spoke very good English. I can speak a few Italian phrases but when I did they responded in English. The bar staff and pool bar staff weren’t as friendly and often said they couldn’t understand but then would speak clear English to other people. I did get the impression the bar staff preferred you if you were French or Italian! Food was lovely, lots of choices and dinner changes every night. Breakfast was very samey but tasty regardless. Pool and beach were fab, would recommend water shoes for the beach and a snorkel to watch the fish swimming around your feet. Cefalu town was exactly how I imagined traditional Italian to be. Lovely restaurant, amazing architecture and helpful friendly locals. Would definitely recommend this hotel but bring a hairdryer and learn a bit Italian after all you’re in Italy!!
