Catania City Center Apartments are modern efficiency apartments in the oldest part of the city. Via Naumachia is a rather grim one-way street, but that should take little away from the apartments. I always felt comfortable and safe walking in the area. I was pleased with my apartment. The bed, two singles sheeted with queen size sheets, was comfortable. The room was colorfully decorated. There were adequate wall sockets for my electronics and the wifi was reliable. The well equipped kitchenette was in a tight alcove, and the modern bathroom was very nice. My room was on the backside; it had a balcony and useful laundry line with a few clothes pins. The location is about 300 m to Castello Ursino. The staff at the nearby Etna Experience office (next to & southeast of the Ursino) manages the property. The only complaint I had was that the email instructions said that I would find a envelope with my name on it providing me keys to my apartment. There were three envelopes none of which had my name on it. I was caught in the rain, so I just picked one and claimed that one as my apartment. No problem after that. Caretakers are available on the entrance way. There was water and extra supplies in the hallways, so it is unlikely that you would need to call upon them. I very much liked my apartment.

My friend and I stayed in the 'Folklore' room, which was lovely. A very large room with great décor and furniture, which also had a small kitchenette and decent-sized bathroom. The shower worked very well, and there is a hairdrier. The room has air con/heating, a fridge, TV and DVD player, and could sleep four people. The bed was comfy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave us a map of the town with useful sites marked on it, and also gave us other info about things to do. You can also buy bottled water from there (at a good price) just by helping yourself and leaving the money in an honesty box. The location seems like a residential area but is in easy walking distance to the castle and the main square/Cathedral. In January a lot of eateries weren't open, as could be expected, but we managed to find a good café, a takeaway, and the staff recommended places to go, such as a restaurant which was near the castle. This restaurant did a great buffet of vegetarian food / vegetables which was ideal for me. The room was a self-catering type, so it wasn't cleaned daily, and we had to replenish our own toilet supply, but this wasn't a problem as there are quite a few little shops around for food/household goods. I would certainly recommend this place to others, and would definitely stay there again. I have rated it as 'budget' because visiting in January we got a very good deal, but am unsure what the prices are like during the tourist season, so please check.

Being honest in this review as I'd want someone to be the same for me. The price is fair for this accommodation. We used it for an airport transfer, which was fine. It is walking distance to tourist sites but please note that the accommodation itself is in what appears to be a 'rough' area, although we experienced no problems at all. Everything was clean but as fair from the price this is not luxury accommodation.

“Central and convenient”

We stayed here for a few nights as it as in a good location. The people who run it can be found at Etna experience which is a few minutes walk. It is about 20 minutes walk to town. It feels like a little neighbourhood nearby. This is not a B and B now though it has hot plates and a kitchenette so it is convenient for buying and storing some foods. You can pick up keys through instructions and a key box. It was all simple enough. It can be a little noisy but that is probably expected in a building with apartments all around. You can hear a lot. I would say that they need to get a new mattress and pillows as these were quite flat. It's a nice appartment though with a bit of space and enough for a few nights. Wifi was very quick.
