This hotel is set in a quiet mountainous area quite far from most places so if you plan to explore you definitely should hire a car. As for the hotel itself,we payed for a sea view and it was worthwhile as we had the most amazing view down to the ocean,we also payed for the half board with dinner option and the food is excellent especially if you like sea food. The staff are very polite and helpful,the pool bar area is tranquil and full of trees with sun or shady spots available They charge all drinks and extra food to your room and you settle up when you check out I would say this isn't your typical "Brit abroad" hotel,don't expect loud music or pizza every night there's very little in the way of entertainment which obviously doesn't suit all also not suitable for less abled people as there are alot of steps and obviously it's on a mountain We loved this hotel,the peace and tranquility and the remoteness. Also loved access to a nature reserve for(steep) walks in the cooler evenings

“Rocce Sarde a disappointment”

Sardinia is lovely. Unfortunately I wasn't aware before going there that hire cars have to be picked up and returned to the airport. This cost 130 euros in taxis getting to and from the airport, as I hadn't arranged car hire for a full week. This is important as the hotel is quite isolated. The Hotel is very rustic. Some would say, tired. Most of the time there was an awful cesspit smell in the air. This ruined any time spent by the swimming pool. Even the path down to the pool area was a challenge, especially for those with mobility problems. There is very little to do at the hotel, as there isn't a games room, or a gym, or a quiet area to read. The bed was very firm and with one thin pillow, uncomfortable. The shuttle to the beach is only an eight seater, and on more than one occasion we had to wait for the shuttle to return from the beach for us to be on the second trip down there. When leaving the property at the end of the holiday, we had to walk with our baggage down the very steep access drive to the main road. Again, very difficult for anyone with mobility problems. Food was just ok, the best part being the starter buffet. Unless you have a car to drive into the nearest town, you are stuck. If you wanted a taxi, it would have to come from the airport to pick you up - crazy and expensive. The only thing I couldn't complain about was the staff, whether reception, restaurant, or maids, they were helpful, efficient and friendly.

Lovely tranquil setting in beautiful gardens, felt quite isolated nowhere to walk only the hotel grounds..need to hire a car from airport, if not 7 nights is plenty! Steps down to swimming pool/bar area, need to be mobile! Comfortable sun beds. Recommend half board if not hiring car, no other restaurants on site. Food needs labelling better on buffet table. Rooms are basic, cleaned everyday and comfortable beds. Room 121 situated above kitchen/staff area rather noisy some mornings ie. Need rubber tyres on trolleys, staff smoking area. We had a good relaxing holiday. Take a pack of playing cards, much needed on an evening!!

“Stunning location in the mountains”

Tranquil setting within the granite mountains surrounded by nature, with views of distant sea and islands. We booked a garden view room which had no view, it was blocked by an overgrown evergreen screening hedge less than 1m from our window. No where to dry wet swim costume. Although there was a fridge minibar there were no tea or coffee facilities in room. We requested a quiet room but found an external generator noisy. Although pool is an attractive space below the hotel, there is an unpleasant 'toilet' smell and profusion of flies at times. There was no warning sign of the submerged partition wall separating shallow and deep areas, I actually grazed my knee whilst swimming across the pool. The food was generally good, enjoyed good croissants and homemade bread, however fruit juices at breakfast are sweet and artificial. Extremely poor labelling of hot and cold buffet dishes, which made it difficult to identify for dietary requirements and for specific allergies. The restaurant service is formal and despite ordering our evening meal at breakfast as requested, some evenings took 2hrs to complete our meal. We noted discrepancies between menu and food served e.g. fried fish on menu was actually squid, octopus and prawn. Of concern was the hotels actions on sustainability, pool side bins were a random mix of rubbish, since recycling facilities were non existent, we took our plastic and glass bottles off site to recycle. We deliberately left our towels on the rail to reuse but every day they were replaced with fresh towels. We enjoyed using the seating provided in the upper level garden area surrounded by flowering shrubs. There is extensive free car parking available, some with shaded car bays. Overall we enjoyed our stay, grateful that we had pre-booked a rental car and were able to explore the many cultural sites and beautiful beaches.
