“Charming hotel and staff”
Charming people in a charming hotel in the centre of town. Our room might have benefitted from tea and coffee making facilities and we struggled to get the TV to work properly. However the staff looked after us very well and they were eager to make our visit enjoyable which means a lot. Thank you.

This is a boutique hotel with loads of charm and character. Our Junior Suite was comfortable and classy, but not overly large. The balcony is only for the petit. This is a boutique hotel with loads of charm and character. Our Junior Suite was comfortable and classy, but not overly large. The balcony is only for the petit. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the old city, easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. The military harbour is also an easy walk, and has a nice promenade shaded by palms and umbrella pines. The breakfast room on the lower level is quaint, and the breakfast is good - a variety of breads, rolls, croissants, local honey and jam, scrambled eggs and bacon. The service is excellent, and we were particularly thankful to Ilaria who helped us rebook our ferry to Corsica, when the weather forecast threatened to cancel that crossing. (waiting a few days was not really an option) As is often the case with those who provide excellent customer service, Ilaria did not think she had done anything special. Those of us who are the beneficiaries of such service know better! Thank you again, Ilaria.

“The Locanda del Conte Memeli Experience”
Outstanding service, hotel/room quality. Absolutely faultless and staff outstanding. Flowers, decor, room cleanliness were excellent. Breakfast and tending staff were again without fault. Well Done The Locanda del Conte Mameli!!

“Nice Stay With Certain Shortcomings”
We booked the Queen Suite SPA and were stunned by the amazing terrace with its wonderful view on the city and the sunset. It's possible to sit in the shade or lie on the sunbeds to enjoy it. We booked the Queen Suite SPA and were stunned by the amazing terrace with its wonderful view on the city and the sunset. It's possible to sit in the shade or lie on the sunbeds to enjoy it. Inside there is a lot of space, good beds and a big bath room with a rain shower. We also liked the breakfast with a very good cappuccino, which was served in the suite without additional costs - the personnel even brought several cappuccinos. However there are also several points we didn't like: - the credit card was charged with the full amount before our arrival although we booked the option to pay during check-in. The personnel didn't offer us any possibility to pay in cash. - the whirlpool didn't work at all. We followed the instructions, which were available in the suite but it wasn't possible to get the display and the buttons active. We tried to contact the reception desk at 9pm, first by phone (dialing 9) then by walking down to the entry and waiting 10 minutes, but nobody was available neither on the phone nor at the desk.
