My wife and I had a wonderful holiday in the Hotel Soleado. Due to our flight being very early, we arrived at the hotel shortly after 11am and although this was not the designated check-in time, we were allowed to check-in and went straight to our room. Our room was brightly lit with sunshine. It had a bed, bedside lockers with lamps, wardrobe, mini-fridge, safe, TV and table & chair (above which was a large mirror). A door opened out onto a balcony which had two chairs and a small table. This room receives sunshine for most of the day. At night, there is a blackout curtain and a gauze one, which can be pulled to block vision and light. The bathroom was sparkling clean. There was a sink, above which was a lit mirror. There were also a shower, toilet and bidet, all gleamingly clean. The room was cleaned thoroughly and fresh towels & toiletries provided daily – thanks AnnaMaria! The self-service breakfast consisted of hot (scrambled eggs & bacon) and cold (meats, cheeses, yoghurts) offerings, pastries, tarts, breads, cakes, water, tea, coffee and fruit juices. I think that there were also hard-boiled eggs and herrings available. The restaurant in the hotel is very popular. We dined there on our last night. We were presented with QR coded menu but upon ordering I discovered that not all the advertised dishes were available on the night. We were each given a glass of Prosecco at the start of the meal and a shot of Mirto(?) at the end. One side dish I had ordered didn’t appear so I ate without it (it was presented after I had finished eating but I refused it). Service was friendly and there was a good wine list. We enjoyed our meal there. There are two pools, one for kids and one for adults. All agreed that the water was chilly but all also agreed that it was reinvigorating. The pool is constantly cleaned, as is the surrounding furniture (tables, chairs and sunshades). It is heartening to note that a sunbed cannot be reserved by leaving a towel on one – well done Soleado! Note also that bedroom towels are not to be used on the sunbeds as towels can be obtained from reception for a small cost. The location of the hotel is ideal. The Old Town is a 15 minute walk away along the promenade, from which we enjoyed many gorgeous sunsets. While there are many, many pros, the single con was the noisy plumbing, which, thankfully, didn’t bother us during the night but could be a problem if wanting to stay late in bed. Our abiding memory of the hotel is the cleanliness evident everywhere – foyer, corridors, elevator, bedrooms, pool, restaurant and breakfast area. Our second abiding memory is the friendliness and professionalism of staff – each member did their best to ensure that we had a wonderful experience in the hotel. Our thanks to the people on reception, housekeepers, the bar staff, waiters and breakfast crew. Many thanks to all who contributed to making our holiday in Alghero so memorable.

“Nice Hotel in a Perfect Position ”

We were impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms and the very helpful and friendly staff. This hotel is right on the seafront opposite a lovely beach of white sand. It takes 20 minutes to walk to the old town along a lovely wide promenade. The hotel rooms have basic furniture, air conditioning, quite firm beds, fridge, safe and TV. We were on the 4th floor with lovely views of the sea from the balcony. The bathroom had a shower, toilet. Sink and bidet. Also a hairdryer and a bottle of shower shampoo and a small bar of soap. Breakfast was the usual offering of eggs, bacon, cheese, ham, cereal, fruit, yogurt etc and a selection of cakes. There are two machines for hot drinks but the staff will make fresh hot drinks if asked. There is a nice swimming pool, not heated. The restaurant is also open to the public for lunch and evening meals. We enjoyed our stay.

“More three star than four.”

We booked a quadruple room which had a fabulous balcony looking out to sea. The balcony furniture left a lot to be desired. The pool was lovely but small with very few sunbeds. There is no rooftop sun area. A clean hotel, lovely restaurant but more three than four star.
