The Grand Hotel Excelsior is located at the center of Reggio, walking distance to all the amenities, museums, seafront and worth mentioning best ice cream place! The facilities are great, but the most importantly thing to mention is the welcoming atmosphere, professionalism and willingness to go a step further to help their guests. “The museum is just up the hill -- great location for walking .”
A great location and a nice hotel . Easy walk to a long pedestrian street , with lots of shops and restaurants . Lots of free toiletries in the bathroom -- a nice jacuzzi tub , but only 2 jets worked . Breakfast was OK , but if you wanted cooked eggs it cost $ 5.00 extra . If you want bottled wate… more

“Great for a short stay.”
Stayed one night during a tour of southern Italy. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom stocked with everything you needed for a comfortable stay although the hair dryer was pretty much useless. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Staff was friendly. Would recommend for a short stay.

“Ticks all the boxes”
A business-friendly hotel which also caters well to independent travelers with a great location, helpful staff, large, well-appointed rooms, and an excellent restaurant (though there are also several excellent, more casual restaurants catering principally to locals within a 10 minute walk).

The hotel all in all was great. The staff were kind and accommodating. The room I booked(423) was a junior suite. But it had this funny smell when coming into the room. But it was nice and spacious and had a really expansive bathroom. We switched to the room opposite (401) and it had a great sea view. Especially love the curtains surrounding the bedroom area! And the blackout curtains were great if you want to sleep in. The bathroom in this room was not as large as the previous room but it was charming. The breakfast buffet had a lot of choices. But if you want hot food you need to pay extra. The air conditioning was not up to par with what I expected. It only goes down up to 22.5 and for me that’s still warm to have a cozy night’s dream. But that’s just me. It’s near the high street and the famous gelato shop! They do have siestas so most of the shops are closed from 3-7 pm. Try the ADDUMA restaurant near the hotel. It’s fantastic! The hotel’s restaurant looks fabulous during the night. And you can go out to the terrace and enjoy the wonderful sea view with night lights lovingly encompassing the Lungomare Falcomata.
