“Perfect for our late late arrival”

We needed a hotel for one night after train ride from Ravenna to Bologna where we changed onto the high-speed FrecciaRossa for the 9 hour ride from Bologna to Reggio do Calabria. In fact the problem was worse than we expected because trains from Ravenna to Bologna were cancelled (Deleted in TrenItalia English) so we were on later trains and didn't arrive until nearly midnight. But the hotel was very welcoming, the bed was comfortable and we slept well, the breakfast was satisfactory and it all worked well. Can't tell you much more about it but for that one night it was great and not expensive.

“Comfortable, Convenient and Helpful front desk. ”

Located just out of the central promenade with on street parking available. A good 20 minute walk to the Main museum. Room has good air conditioning. Free wifi worked very well. Located just out of the central promenade with on street parking available. A good 20 minute walk to the Main museum. Room has good air conditioning. Free wifi worked very well. You need to ask for a pass for each different smartphone or Tablet. A 2 minute walk to the main promenade which comes alive after siesta (5.00pm). The Harbourside walk runs parallel to the main promenade and well worth the walk. Breakfast available from 7.30 am and is ample to get you going for the day. Easily accessible to the main roads without being on them.

I arrived in Reggio by train and it was only a 4 minute walk to the hotel (up a slight hill to get there, but down hill in the morning of course!). The receptionist spoke reasonable English and I was checked in quickly. I went up to my room which was spacious, spotlessly clean and had a nice double bed. It had got quite cold in the South of Italy by the time I stayed, so I had to put the room heating on but it was left on whilst I went to the restaurant for dinner and the room was lovely and warm when I got back. As I said above, I had dinner (both nights I stayed) in the hotel's restaurant - perfect service, good food and a superb glass of wine accompanying it. My one comment was that the food was quite salty - for example the lentil & potato soup seemed to have a lot of extra salt. Generally though it was OK. Breakfast was acceptable, but as others have said it needs a bit more choice. I had a superb night's sleep both nights.

This is an unpretentious hotel which fulfils its function perfectly adequately. Everything works, it’s all very clean, and it’s very good value. The location is good, too. The lack of any off street parking is a minus point, however. The biggest asset is the staff: Domenico with his beautiful blue eyes and carefully coiffed hair, so helpful and friendly, and the lovely Manuela, with her charm and linguistic abilities. We would return, as, overall, for the price paid, it is a small hotel which is hard to beat.
