“this place is too good”
We’re only mid stay now but this place is beautiful, me and my girlfriend are only 18 and we wanted a relaxing stay after our exams were finished, we have an amazing sea view that we didn’t even pay for and the staff are soo soooo nice and helpful, we had a problem with the safe opening on the firs… more
We’re only mid stay now but this place is beautiful, me and my girlfriend are only 18 and we wanted a relaxing stay after our exams were finished, we have an amazing sea view that we didn’t even pay for and the staff are soo soooo nice and helpful, we had a problem with the safe opening on the first night and by the morning the next day someone came and fixed it. The prices for drinks and snacks are very good and the iced coffees are probably the highlight of our stay, it’s just a really cool place in general. The beach is closer than expected and it’s a really nice scenic walk down there that takes less than 10 minutes. The two pools are even nicer than the pictures and the views of the mountains can be seen whilst you’re swimming. Food in the local town has been very nice so far and if you want more options then a 5 min taxi drive to forio port is perfect. 10/10 will 100% be coming back.

Stayed in a stunning sea view room, we were upgraded on arrival. Exceptionally clean, with a beautiful pool area. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice., lovely eating area with breakfast on the terrace as well. Transport links from the villa are really good with a bus stop just beside it and staff are good with advice about the boats ferries and attractions. Would happily stay again!

“Oasis of calm but it’s an uphill struggle”
Choose this hotel if you don’t want to skip leg day on your holidays. Otherwise you may want to look out for the bus which comes infrequently … with no schedule (don’t bother buying a ticket 😜) Villa Melodie is clean, value for money and has a fabulous pool. The staff were welcoming and the room was adequate… though no luxuries provided (no water, no tea and coffee facilities, no beach towels and no room service). Had a great stay - would recommend!

We stayed 4 nights. The hotel is very close to a bus stop, and it is easy to take the local buses around the island. The old town in Forio is very nice. Melodie is not so close to a beach, but they have a nice pool in a beautiful garden. They made us pay for pool towels, that was unexpected and unnecessary. And it was very windy by the pool, seemed to be a problem. Breakfast buffet was rather simple, no good juice, bad coffee, very bad bread, and eggs that were boiled too long, they were grey inside. You could order fried eggs, but they did not inform us about that, so we missed it the first 2 days. We had half board, very good price, and good home made food for dinner with a chose in menu every day. Much food and good food! White wine of the house very simple. We were disappointed that the meals were served in the basement with no view at all, probably because it is a rather windy place, but it should have been upstairs with a view. With dinner at 7.30 we never got to see the sunset, which is a pity when you chose a place turned west.... Almost all the other guests were Germans, there was 1 Italian lady and us. The staff spoke some German, but very little English. When we asked something in English, they often answered in German. When the dinner menu was given to the tables at breakfast, we could get it in Italian or German, but not in English. It made us feel a little "2nd class guests", and the hotel should improve if they want to receive guests other than Germans.

We stayed here in Aug 2018, as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 pre-teen sons. We felt that the hotel was more suited to adults who were keen for rest and relaxation and I wouldn't return with children. We stayed here in Aug 2018, as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 pre-teen sons. We felt that the hotel was more suited to adults who were keen for rest and relaxation and I wouldn't return with children. The pool felt like a quiet zone, the boys were frequently being told to stop splashing etc. by other guests. This is fine, though had I known I would have booked somewhere else where they could play with the ball and swim around energetically etc. Giovanni was very helpful and gave us some great recommendations and helped us to enjoy the local area. Some of the staff were unhelpful /borderline rude and it was rather frustrating when trying to facilitate basic things such as ordering something from the snack menu and being told that it was only possible to "pre-order" a snack in the morning yet being told something different the day before. The breakfast was exceptionally good for a 3star however you need to get there early.
