“Wonderful Staff and Great Food”
I have just returned from a family holiday at the Hotel Galidon. It was fantastic! The hotel and staff are great and the food is fresh, local and superb. I have just returned from a family holiday at the Hotel Galidon. It was fantastic! The hotel and staff are great and the food is fresh, local and superb. The atmosphere is very relaxed, friendly and family oriented. We all particularly enjoyed the outdoor thermal pool where we were looked after by the one and only Tule who makes the best coffee in Ischia as well as the most amazing Bruschetta with sweet juicy tomatoes and locally sourced Mozzarella and home grown Basil! We will definitely be going back!!!

The hotel has 3 swimming pools: the big one is thermal and quite hot; there is another small pool with external temperature.The terrace is nice and panoramic. There is also a free minibus to Citara e Forio five times a day.

In the morning there is still the same food. No change for week. In the evening you find very chilly restaurant. Sometime there is very loud music. The food is fresh. If you walk across the road be careful. No priority for walking people.

Galidon is a decent 3* hotel with two great thermal pools (indoor / outdoor) and very nice and polite staff - we had great interaction with reception / waiters / cleaners. Galidon is a decent 3* hotel with two great thermal pools (indoor / outdoor) and very nice and polite staff - we had great interaction with reception / waiters / cleaners. Additionally, they provide free bus transfers to beach and Forio until the end of September. Moreover, the wifi was quite good and accessible in the rooms, which is something not to be taken for granted in Ischia. So - why only 3*? Food - the breakfast is modest and the lunches and dinners are hit and miss. You may get a very tasty juicy steak as well as rabbit's neck with 20 grams of meat on it - it is a complete lottery. The wine was of sub-standard quality. The minimum standards are missing and even fresh bread is not guaranteed - fresh and old bread is mixed together so people end up touching the bread with their hands (!) to avoid picking the old pieces. Absence of recycling and water served in plastic cups. It is pure laziness to use one-time plastic products instead of glass that can be washed. Cleaning was good but the place smelled like a chemical factory afterwards - the cleaning stuff should go easier on the amount of detergents they spend on cleaning. Moreover, it was not possible to open windows to get rid of the chemical smell because of very heavy smokers next door. This was extremely infuriating - one comes to this place to enjoy fresh air and health benefits and instead ends up inhaling other people's cigarette smoke. If the hotel cared at all, they could have offered smoking / non-smoking sections but apparently they do not care enough about it.
