“All our needs were fulfilled”

We stayed two nights with our team of 7 at this hotel. Although not a business oriented hotel, they still accommodated us and made their quasi hotel lobby into a conference room for one full day. This included covering all windows in the ceiling to ensure we could see our laptops. We left before their kitchen opened for breakfast and so they made us some breakfast bags to take with us. They even taxied us to and back from the port. Summary is: they did everything to make our trip a success and fulfill our needs. A big thanks to Sandra and her team! Food was great, rooms comfortable. If back in Porto Azzurro, we will be staying here again.

“Beautiful view over the bay.”

The hotel and apartments have a beautiful view over the bay and the surroundings are nice with flowers and trees. Also the pool has a very nice view and is nice and clean. The beach and the water in the sea is not so nice since it is situated in the inner part of the bay. There is a road with a lot of traffic between the hotel and the swimming pool and beach but there is a tunnel so that you do not need to cross the road. Porto Azzurro is 2 km from the hotel and is a very nice town to visit and dine in the evening, but you need to go by car because it is not safe to walk on this road. We had a car and went to other places and beaches on the island. Our apartment number 83 had a private nice balcony with a beautiful view of the bay and with awning to provide shade. The apart was a bit dark and the kitchen area was very small right at the door into the apartment. The air conditioning was very good and easy to use. There was parking space near the apartment. No cleaning during our stay for 9 nights, but we received new towels.

Stayed for a week, superior room. Rooms dated, but clean (daily cleaning was excellent). Bed comfy enough, but it’s all a bit old and tired. Great staff, no complaints there. Pool area very welcoming and well kept. Beach is redundant due to the great pool, but also because the Mola bay is very shallow and more of an estuary. The ‘beach’ suffers from sediment so no-one swims there. Breakfast is adequate but done on the cheap. Tinned fruit, juice from concentrate, only cold boiled eggs, is not ****star. Cakes, croissants, yogurts, whole fruit, bread rolls etc all good and fresh though, as was the coffee. There is someone replenishing the breakfast constantly so it never runs out. Smoking is allowed outside at the breakfast tables though, which probably suits the age of the generation staying there (In September anyway), but is unpleasant for any non-smokers. Main gripe with the room was next doors air conditioning was located on my terrace! Which means you never know if you can sit outside in relative quiet or listening to the fan on full power. This only effects the downstairs rooms though. Main road generates plenty of noise. Room did have a great view. The hotel is built on a hillside, with the rooms in blocks reaching up the hill. The image it portrays is pleasing. In theory you could walk to Porto Azzura, but the road has no pavement, and the traffic is heavy all day and evening, so I’d say it is too dangerous to try, especially with kids or a dog. I drove every time. Overall an enjoyable stay, but it should be rated 3 star, and priced accordingly.
