After a bad start to our holiday as our flight was delayed for 2 hours the taxi we had booked and paid for wasn't at the airport to pick us up , do not use Gettransfer.com as their policy is if your flight is delayed then order another taxi at your own expense and we were not refunded any money we had paid. We were allocated room 128 which is the worst room we have ever stayed in as it is very small and there isn't a balcony door just a window very high up it was like a dungeon and we had to have lights on during the day. On speaking to other guests if you want to change your room there is a 400 euros charge so we didn't bother asking. We stayed 21st to 28th September and everywhere outside is closing down would nor recommend going at this time of year. We had buffet service for the first 3 nights and then had to choose from a poor menu , on our last night there was only 4 other tables being used we totally misjudged the time to visit. We sat by the pool one day and had to pay 10 euros for 2 sun loungers even though none of them were being used as the hotel was almost empty. Wifi is not free at this hotel , which is the first hotel we have stayed in that charges for this. We stayed here a few years ago and enjoyed it but not this time , we will not be returning as we thought there was some form of entertainment but not on this occasion.

Jet2 airport transfer was via a blacked out Mercedes minibus, much nicer than a packed, hot coach. Fabulous standard of cleanliness in all areas of the Augustus and warm, welcoming staff throughout. WiFi €5 for 2 weeks usage. Bar and restaurant beverages average €5 for a beer, €3.50 glass of house wine, cocktails €9 but nothing special-better available on the strip. Have only ever stayed in Gianetti hotels previously so this was our first experience of the Menazza Hotels group who have now taken over several Jesolo hotels. Setting them apart is the food. We ate out 3 times during our 11 night stay as dinner wasn't up to a high enough standard for the price paid. Dress code is slack - scruffy, casual clothing accepted in the evenings. Food is warm, never hot and most vegetables on the hot plate covered in cheese. Pool area outstanding and never too overcrowded - happy to pay the €5 per day sunbed charge, it's the most beautiful pool area on the promenade. Drinks in the bar/restaurant are charged to your room which makes for a hefty checkout bill plus the €2.30 per person per day Tourist Tax.
