“Amazing stay! ”

An amazing stay! All staff were very welcoming and friendly. We upgraded our room and had a gorgeous balcony over looking Sorrento with a view of Naples. An amazing stay! All staff were very welcoming and friendly. We upgraded our room and had a gorgeous balcony over looking Sorrento with a view of Naples. The pool area was nice and quiet which was perfect, you could read your book, drink your cocktail and relax for the afternoon. The hotel is on a hillside which means a slight incline walking back up, that didn't bother us, 10 minute walk and you'll arrive in the middle of Sorrento for shopping and food. We will 100% book this hotel again!

“Loved it”

Excellent location , wonderful views and run and owned by the same family for 50 years . Excellent location , wonderful views and run and owned by the same family for 50 years . Its run in the traditional old fashioned way where standards are high and the owners and staff are really helpful and genuinely very nice people . Amazing views in every room – big balconies with sun until mid-day Very comfortable beds . Rooms are decent size – good shower in bathroom Excellent breakfast in a beautiful sunny breakfast room – either in or out and with fresh fruit options . Really don’t understand why some people are so rude and critical? The coffee is actually fine. We have stayed in many Italian hotels in various locations and the breakfast offering here is very good and far better than the average . The lift is quick and efficient and has to be the most amazing glass lifts in the world with breathtaking views over Mt Vesuvius. The pool is superb plenty of really good quality sun beds . Again great views and unlike many adjacent hotels the pool is in sun until 5pm (certainly was in May ) Location – as many have said its 10/12 minutes walk to Sorrento centre and another 10 minutes down to Marina Grande . The footpath is a bit narrow and the scooters and motorbikes can be noisy but hey – that’s Sorrento ! We were a bit worried due to some negative reviews . We were also confused why the hotel seems to have ditched main stream booking websites and now only does direct booking. I thought – what is going on here ? Fear not…. It is fine . My interpretation of this (and fair play to them for taking this bold move ) – they know they can book it out 90 % for most months of the year – they know the score and have been doing this for 50 years . The direct booking system is fair and very reliable and very efficient . So…we had a great 5 days in this lovely traditional hotel – we will miss the polite and friendly faces of all the staff and owners. Enjoyed chatting to the older gentlemen (family members) and seeing the friendly face of Julio the young chap at breakfast. Tip….. don’t bother with expensive taxis from or to the airport . Taxis charge 140 euro each way . Book the bus shuttle instead . ( curreriviaggi ) The bus/shuttle service costs 10 euro each way and is brilliant and the website clear and very easy to book and navigate. But book your tickets on line in advance as it gets busy and whilst you can pay the driver I wouldn’t risk it as the bus may be full . Then the taxi from Sorrento station to the hotel varies in price and is a bit of a rip off at between 25 and 35 euro for a 7 minute journey – but there is no obvious alternative .

Lovely stay at the hotel for our honeymoon. Yes the hotel is a bit dated and old fashioned but it’s very clean and all staff are really helpful, as well as good location and great views. The hotel is about 15 mins walk from the Main Street. The staff couldn’t do more for you, offering help when I was ill and assisting in me getting some items back I left at the hotel after leaving. Continental breakfast is just okay, not amazing and the coffee machine was not great/coffee tasted bad but the food was enough to get you going for the day. For the price, can’t complain. Some photos of the view from the balcony, there was an amazing firework display one night 💫

You will not find a better view in the world for the price. Most rooms have balconies with incredible views of Sorrento, The Bay of Naples, and Mount Vesuvius. The rooms and commons spaces are very clean and the staff were all great. That said, for the price you can expect rock hard beds, paper-thin tablecloths for towels, and extremely dated decor. None of this was a dealbreaker due to the views and obvious dedication of the staff. The whole stay felt like a trip back in time to the Sorrento of the 70s. I do wish a bit more effort had been put into the common spaces. There is an incredible terrace that we tried to enjoy drinks on several evenings, however, there is not a dedicated bartender. When one was available it often took several awkward minutes to order. The breakfast was truly awful and the only real low point. I’m shocked at how terrible the coffee was for a country that is so well known for it. This was the biggest issue each morning as it required either a paid espresso from the bar or a trip elsewhere. Bottom-line, they are not pretending to be an upscale or even mid tier hotel, but for the price you cannot beat the views
