Stayed for a week in April 2019. Not first choice ,wanted to be central to sorrento. Fortunately the railway station is 2 minutes away to get to Pompeii, naples herculean and also into sorrento. A good few restraunts around, this area too. We were upgraded due to agent messing up again ,they booked 2 rooms for myself and husband .... the owner kindly gave us a large room with balcony. Louisa is a lovely lady who seems to do most things in the hotel , was always happy to make myself extra coffee in the mornings nothing was to much trouble although she always seemed so busy .one of our favourite restraunts in Sorrento was called Enjoy run by a lovely family reasonable with a lovely atmosphere they made everyone welcome .

We arrived at approximately 11 pm and the evening receptionist Ettore stayed behind to let us in our rooms. The keys were handed to us and we got a room by the name of Violetta situated on the second floor. He also showed the coffee machine on the first floor. Also there is a lift but this does not operate from reception - it starts on the first floor. The lift is switched off when he leaves for the night about 9.30 pm and if someone shuts the outer door to the first floor then you cannot get to the coffee machine - ridiculous! Our room was situated next to the Breakfast room and didn’t we know it - just after 6.30 the moving of tables and chairs, plates and cutlery clanking. What a lovely start to our first day. We asked to be moved but were told that the hotel was fully booked - so I asked for a rate reduction. The daytime receptionist was quite understanding and said she would speak to the owner. The answer came back as a no, they would ask the breakfast staff to be quieter and the owner said that if that wasn’t good enough then we were quite welcome to look for other accommodation - charming! The room was very basic with a small shower room with toilet and bidet but the toilet seat did not fit the toilet and was of the cheapest plastic that money could buy - this told me everything about the owner. We paid for a balcony and this we got but it was next to the breakfast room where two tables were set on the balcony - so we had no privacy if we sat out on our balcony while breakfast was being served between 7.30 and 9.30 am. Also the outer metal doors to the balcony had almost a mind of their own - sometimes you could open them easily and other times we were bashing them to get them open - frustrating! Breakfast was a decent experience - the room was small (same as bedrooms) so there is not many tables - four inside and two on balcony. The food was what we expected - so no problem there - fruit, cheese, eggs, bread, croissants, etc. Coffee was served by Louisa who was always smiley and helpful. We were at the front of the hotel so we could hear all the motorcycles (and there are many) well into the night - plus the barking dogs. Would we stay here again? Definitely not in room Violetta and I don’t think we would stay in any other room either. It’s a shame as this place has good potential. There is a very large reception area with a desk for the receptionist and other furniture. It would be nice if they could put a small bar in there so you could purchase beer, soft drinks and snacks.

“Good location”
This hotel is literally 400m from the train station and it's only 2 quick stops away from Sorrento. Cheaper than staying directly in the center yet so easy to get there by train. Taxi cost €33 from town to hotel as trains stop at 21.30pm. Standard breakfast. Comfy bed & peaceful.
