We stayed for 11 nights in Room 18, which had a large balcony and an exceptional view of Sorrento, its coastline, and Naples and Mount Vesuvius across the bay. The room was spacious with plenty of storage. There is a small beach for guests; we walked down the hill to see it, but it was too cool this time of year to use it. If you go in summer and expect to use the beach, bring swim shoes as it is rocky (as are most beaches in this area). The housekeeping staff was excellent and attended to our every need. Joseph was so helpful; he booked one excursion for us, and made several phone calls on our behalf when we were looking for a place that had fried pizza on the menu. He also investigated several different options for cooking classes. Most nights we went to the bar to get ice to take to our room; all the staff were so friendly and accommodating. One night the bar had already closed but Franchesco (at the desk) went into the bar/kitchen to get some. He was very friendly and helpful, as was the young woman who checked us in. She gave us directions and lots of tips on restaurants (but I can't remember her name). The walk from the hotel to the main Sorrento street (where all the action is), was about 1/2 mile. The road is busy, and the sidewalks narrow, but we loved the walk (especially after eating the phenomenal food at the local restaurants. On our last night it was raining so we ate at the hotel restaurant. The food was phenomenal; we wished we ate there earlier because we certainly would have gone back again. Our waiter recommended a bottle of wine to pair with our meal, and it was spot-on! We would certainly stay here again (and we hear they offer a discount for repeat visits). This is a great hotel with excellent staff!

My fiancé and I traveled with our immediate families to Sorrento and hosted our small, symbolic wedding ceremony on the terrace of the Deluxe Suite at Hotel La Tonnarella. Words cannot describe how impressed we were with this hotel - from the accommodations to the service and event management support. The staff of the hotel (especially Luigi and Mariela) made sure our small event was executed flawlessly, and the team often went above and beyond our expectations in the level of service delivered. The team worked with us well in advance to deliver a custom dinner menu to be served on the restaurant terrace as well as appetizers and cocktails for our guests on the suite balcony after the ceremony. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our suite’s terrace was transformed into a stunning wedding venue (coordinating flowers and decor), and even offered servers to help with our cocktail hour after the ceremony. Of course, the views from the Deluxe Suite are second to none, so we could not have asked for a better venue for our special day! Our families truly enjoyed their stays at the hotel and appreciated the excellent service we received. Tonnarella will always be a special place for us and we’re sure to plan another trip in the future!

“Spectacular views and friendly staff”

We just left La Tonnarella today after 5 nights at the hotel. The service and the view were fantastic and we felt comfortable the entire trip. The hotel associates were very helpful with any requests needed. A beautiful scenic walk into town along a busy street was challenging.

My wife and I recently stayed at La Tonnarella in Sorento. The customer service offered us was outstanding. Joseph, Fabiano, and Annalisa were the nicest people you could possibly meet. The front operations of the hotel ran perfectly I have never experienced better customer service then at this hotel. The location is beautiful and the room was exactly as described and pictured. The bed was extremely comfortable and the view from our balcony was awesome. The restaurant Radici del Sud was excellent, Raffaelle and the team of servers offered outstanding service and the food was delicious. The view from the outdoor seating area cannot be beat. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Sorento. My wife and I will definitely stay here the next time we visit.
