Despite some negative and, in my opinion, rather unfair reviews about this little family run hotel, my partner and myself have just returned, having had a thoroughly enjoyable week. On arrival, when the coach dropped us off, one of the staff members, who are mostly all family, was there to meet us and explained the exact location of the hotel which was basically only yards away, but across a busy road. He then proceeded to load everyone’s cases into a car and promptly delivered them to the bar area in the hotel where we were already being served a complimentary glass of Prosecco until the check in process was completed. We were then given the key card for the rooms and key to the free safe. The room was small but tastefully decorated and very clean, with air conditioning at no extra cost. It did require some ‘creative’ thinking in the placing of small personal items and clothing as there was no dressing table, and very little surface-space, so I did end up keeping some lesser used items in my suitcase. There was only one useable plug socket, not beside the bed, but this wasn’t a problem for me. A good ‘tip’ may be to take some string and clothes pegs (which I always do) as there is no clothes airer available on the balcony. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and hair/body wash topped up. The bathroom had a good hair dryer, the shower was straightforward and there was always plenty of hot water. Breakfast, served between 7-9 am, was continental style and consisted of choice of cereal, yogurts, fresh fruit, cold meat and cheese, cakes and croissants and hot scrambled eggs and mushrooms, tea, coffee and juice and a toaster available. This was all very good . Dinner 7- 9.30pm) - the menu was provided at breakfast for you to make the choice for your evening meal. The food was of reasonable quality…..the three courses always included a soup and a pasta starter. The main course included a fish, meat and a salad option. Dessert was usually fresh fruit. Portions weren’t huge but, certainly adequate. The dining room was downstairs and had no natural light. It lacked a little ambiance in the evening when dimming of the main lighting and the addition of some artificial candle lights may have added to the feeling of ‘occasion’. This is just a suggestion……not a complaint! The hotel lies around a mile and a half from the heart of Sorrento and is about a half hour walk, either along the busy main road or via the quieter back streets. There is a regular bus service and also a nearby train line to other areas. Because of the noise from the nearby railway and church across the road, which has bell ringing every quarter of an hour, another ‘hot tip’ may be to take a set of good ear plugs……something I would never be without when travelling away from home. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and I would like to thank them, once more, in helping to make our holiday extra special. We certainly hope to return to Hotel Club Sorrento next year.

“Great breakfast and very clean”

This hotel has a fantastic breakfast and a kind staff. Slept well as the walls and bed are solid. It is impeccably clean and they will clean your room daily. The pool is clean and cool. Yes there is some train noise but not overnight. If you plan to have busy days, this is a great deal in Sorrento.
