“Felt at home here”

Staff was very accommodating. Breakfasts were delicious. Pool was lovely and there were enough chairs for all. Beds were comfortable and everything was well taken care of. Rooms were a bit dated but adequate. It was a 15 minute walk to the square. It met all our needs.

We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel while we were in Sorrento. We stayed in Rome for 4 nights prior, and Florence for 4 nights after, and Hotel Central Wellness in Sorrento was by far the best hotel we stayed at during our trip! The hotel was clean and in great condition and located in a great location in my opinion. There was about a 10 minute walk to the downtown area, but I think that actually worked out great and allowed us to get away from the congestion when we were ready to relax. There were also still several restaurants close by as well. We did a trip to Capri one day and a trip to the Amalfi coast another day and both were easily done from this hotel (both had a meeting place that was a less than 10 minute walk away). The room I stayed in seemed updated and was clean and had a great view. There is also a terrace on the top floor where you can relax and have a drink with a nice view as well. Breakfast was served from 7-10 each morning and had a great selection and we were all very happy with it. There is also a pool that we did not use, but we did check it out and it seems very nice. I'll also mention that this was also the only hotel out of the 3 we stayed at that the wifi worked reliably which was very welcomed! The staff was also all very nice, friendly and helpful. We literally didn't interact with any staff who wasn't pleasant and helpful. One employee I'd like to specifically mention was Salvatore who was working at the bar one evening. It was our last night in Sorrento and we were getting back from a very long day visiting the Amalfi coast and were just going to go to bed. When we got back to the bar we saw the bar empty with the bartender there and decided to have one last drink in Sorrento. Salvatore was probably the most friendly and interesting local/employee I interacted with during our trip. He entertained our (likely annoying) questions about Italy and Italians, gave us some recommendations for Florence where we were going next, and seemed genuinely interested (he asked if I liked the hotel and if I'd come back, etc). He also didn't know how to make a certain drink I asked for but was willing to make it anyway with my instruction. Please pass along to him that we all enjoyed our last drink in Sorrento very much due to his hospitality! If you're staying in Sorrento, definitely check out this Hotel, we weren't disappointed by anything there!

“Great!”

This place was great! From the Air Conditioning to getting information from the front desk to the breakfast with Catarina! She needs to know how wonderful she is! She rocks and rolls the breakfast! This place was great! From the Air Conditioning to getting information from the front desk to the breakfast with Catarina! She needs to know how wonderful she is! She rocks and rolls the breakfast! She even would fill up my huge water bottle before we left for the day! The food was great as well! My husband says this was his favorite out of all the hotels we stayed on our trip! The location is great and the views form the terrace up top were breathtaking!

“Good hotel in a good location…just lacking a couple of things”

I have this hotel a rating of 3 out of 5 as I think it’s lacking in a few things as a 4* hotel. The hotel is very well kept and the staff that we encountered were all lovely. Catarina who works in the breakfast restaurant is lovely and goes out of her way to make your experience a pleasant one. There is plenty of choice at breakfast which is available from 7am-10pm, so handy if you need to be up early for an excursion. The reception staff are too very pleasant. Other reviews stated a welcome drink was offered on arrival but we were not offered one…possibly because we arrived late? We had a queen size room which was very small but I was very grateful to be away from the very noisy, main road! The room lacked storage place for clothes and although there was space to hang shirts, there was nowhere to hang dresses or longer garments. I think for a 4* hotel, tea and coffee making facilities should be available in the rooms…I’ve had this is all other 4* hotels…even 3* hotels in the past. We also had no balcony which we really missed…just somewhere to sit at the end of the evening…we also had nowhere to dry swimwear or towels after a day at the pool! The first pool towel is complimentary…if you put it in the laundry bin after the first use…there is a charge of €3 for another one. We only spent one day at the pool so this wasn’t an issue but if you’re planning on visiting the pool more than once…Keep your towel. The pool side bar is very reasonable…we never purchased food there, but what we saw looked really good. Theres plenty of sunbeds…regardless of what time you get to the pool. Lots of umbrellas are available too. The roof terrace is nice and quiet and you can have drinks bought up from the bar if you want. The location of the hotel is situated on a main road where the traffic never stops…ever! It’s about a 15/20 min walk to the main centre of Sorrento but there are shops/bars etc on the main road. The footpaths are very narrow so it is quite a precarious walk at times! The train centre is easily accessible which we used to get to Pompeii and the prices are so cheap.
