We stayed for a week. The hotel is situated quite close to the station where you can get 20-30 min trains to either Pompeii, Herculaneum or Naples. The hotel suggests a few excursions/activities but they do take a commission! We took a Pizza Course which was excellent. Picked up at the hotel and taken to Antico Frantoio where Claudio the pizza chef was brilliant. The breakfast was excellent and the Head Waiter, Edmondo, is kindly and avuncular. He and the staff also work evenings. The dinner is adequate. We took up their suggestion of a nearby restaurant, Qui Sorrento, which was really excellent. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were excellent. The rooms are spotless. We took a couple of days off to enjoy the pool which is well maintained and there are abundant sun beds! The rooms are well maintained, the only gripe would be there is not enough hanging in the bathrooms. We suggested the provide more hooks, shelves in the bathrooms for guest items and also racks on the balcony to dry swim items. We had a sea facing room with balcony. We gather that town facing rooms are noisy due to traffic on the main road into the town. There seems to be plenty of parking under the hotel (for a charge of about €10-20 a day) and the reception staff bring your car in and out.

There were a lot of pro's and con's to staying in this hotel. Firstly the location is excellent, everything is within walking distance and the hotel is surrounded by great bars and restaurants. The staff are kind and pleasant. The view from the balcony was gorgeous, looking over the bay of Naples. The pillows are extremely comfy too. The balcony railing has around a 30cm gap at the bottom, NOT safe for small children (we had our crawling baby with us so she was not able to go out on the balcony). The lift didn't work properly 50% of the time, going in you usually come out at a floor you're not wanting. You can't control the rooms air conditioning and have to call reception for this which isn't convenient. The worst part for us was staying on the 4th floor. The restaurant is above and every day right on 7am we have been awakened by the noise of chairs being dragged and people walking and talking. People also walk along the corridor of the fourth floor to get to the restaurant, which will definitely wake you up. On another positive note, the restaurant staff are brilliant, and the food is nice. The view from the restaurant is also lovely. I would stay here again, but would make sure I'm in a different room away from the restaurant.

Our room was amazing although the air con was too fierce, so left a balcony door open to stop it. There were fleas in the bedclothes and I was badly bitten. “I do not recommend this hotel”

My mum and I were disappointed with the standard of the room we were given. The shower wasn’t clean (bottle tops and hair) the headboards weren’t secured to the walls, the air con control wasn’t working and set to very cold and the walls so thin we could hear other guests coming and going and easily hear their conversations. This resulted in both my mum and I having 2 very bad nights sleep out of our 4 night stay, making us tired during our excursions which was hardly ideal for such a short trip. I asked for a room change after night one but was told the hotel was full by a rather unhelpful receptionist. Thankfully a guy who overheard suggested that the air con be switched off from reception for our room. Otherwise we would have had to continue to use the chairs and pillows to deflect the cold air off our beds. Location is great for walking to Sorrento and view from the breakfast hall amazing. Pool area is pleasant during the evening. Breakfast food was ok. Thankfully Sorrento and the Pompeii and Amalfi coast excursions made our trip very enjoyable but the hotel unfortunately did not and so I would not recommend this hotel. Also watch out for the city tax when you check out. €4 per person per nights stay.
