What can I say our return visit after a few years away ( we have lost count possibly our 10th visit) did not disappoint. The service, cleanliness, friendly atmosphere had not changed despite some of the familiar faces having moved on. High standards as always and the food as delicious as always. The pool area is kept immaculate and always a sunbed to be had no 6am dash needed here! The shuttle bus runs like clockwork and saves the walk back up the hill! The road down to town can be busy and the hotel don't recommend you walk down to town but we do! We have done it many times and the traffic does respect walkers, the views walking down are spectacular and it uses some of the calories eaten during your stay!! There is a beach area more or less opposite the hotel, reception will direct you, it can be a tough walk back especially in the heat so take your time! Overall we enjoy the excellent service and the pleasant, relaxed atmosphere of this hotel and that's why we return. Thank you La Solara once again for a wonderful holiday and we are looking forward to seeing you all again in September 2025. Enjoy your your well earned rest.

I visited 14 - 21 October together with my husband on the recommendation of my brother who has visited this hotel several times. At his suggestion we paid for a sea view and we were so glad we did as the view is spectacular, we were on the 4th floor. The room and the whole hotel is spotless, thanks to the army of housekeepers. The food is brilliant with huge portions (far too much really) and special thanks to all the staff who put together and worked so hard for the gala evening. The mini bus is a big plus for the hotel being located where it is a couple or so kilometers outside Sorrento itself, the journey takes around 15 minutes into/out of Sorrento. Whilst we were there we had a massive storm which lasted from Thursday evening through to Sunday morning. That in itself was an amazing sight with the thunder and lightening. Most guests were tied to the hotel and Sorrento itself was badly flooded which was so awful for all the shops and people who live in and around. There was a mud slide around the corner from the hotel which blocked the main road into Sorrento but a smaller bus was found to replace the hotel mini bus and even though it meant having to go over and around a mountain on the very narrow roads, the driver managed to get those who wanted to venture out, get into Sorrento safely. We booked a half day trip to Herculaneum via the Tui rep which was great and it had a fantastic guide. We also booked a trip on a little mountain train which I was told is brilliant but this was cancelled due to the weather. Might be worth having a look at this trip if you visit this hotel. The pool is warm and large, even I went in which is a rarity. There are lots of sunbeds and a sun terrace too. The staff and Tui rep are all brilliant as previous guests have said. They must have had a pretty bad time getting into work during the storm but service was never interrupted, still smiles all round. I would like to mention Dimo and Giuseppe in the bar who are super friendly and the manager of the restaurant Marcello who ensures everything runs like clockwork and has a great sense of humour. The waiters run around none stop and are totally professional. and friendly too. The reception staff are also second to none and really helpful with a vast amount of knowledge. If you are looking for something out of town with great food, lovely people, peace and tranquility then you really should be putting La Solara on your list. Anni and Ian UK

The quality of the hotel is so good in virtually all respects. The rooms, lounge, restaurant, pool areas are excellent. The staff could not be more welcoming, helpful and friendly. Antonio and Tina on reception, Giuseppe and Dimo in the bar and all the guys in the restaurant and the cleaners all did a brilliant job and we thank them for making our stay so memorable once again. Thank you all !!

Excellent hotel. Great value for money. Gave us a quadruple room for our family (2 adults 2 gfirls 14 and 7). We were there for 2 nights but had to cut short our trip to 1 as we had a black swan event during our stay : Catastrophic rainfall due to which the are was floosed. They agreed to our leaving after 1 night. We wanted to visit Capri and the Amalfi coast but considering the flood like situation we just left after using it for a night. Impeccably clean, this hotel is located slightly out of 1 Sorrento. A 10 min drive I guess. They have a shuttle too. Fabio in the reception was helpful and goo twith all mail communication. they huided us with a alternate route to the hotel as the hotel experience a landlside near it beaue of rains. Rooms very cosy. Furnished in a Victorian manner. Rooms had gleaming floor tiles which was a nice touch. Breakfast room was large and hd great views of the sea. Too bad we werer there during a catastrophe. We will come back!

Myself and my new Husband decided to spend our honeymoon at this hotel, we really wanted to stay in Sorrento and came across La Solara as the location was great, the reviews on here were really good and reassuring and they also offered gluten free options as I have Coeliac Disease. Overall, we were very happy with our stay at the hotel. The highlights were definitely visiting Sorrento itself, and the surrounding towns/cities: -Sorrento - we visited twice as there's so much to do/see, fab shops, lots of eaterys (great for gluten free!). -Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius (booked a tour through Tui - it was okay but rushed) -Capri (I wouldn't recommend visiting here. Too busy, overpopulated and very expensive. We spent most of our time queuing or waiting for transport to get in & out of Capri. Don't waste your time. -Amalfi Coast; Positano, Amalfi & Ravello (all beautiful places!) (We booked a tour through Viatour; which was really worth its money & time!) -Herculaneum (caught the train ourselves, so glad we did as we thought the tour to Pompeii was rushed and we barely saw the sights). Back to the hotel; here are my pros & cons: Pro: Clean, well-serviced, friendly staff - very accommodating Pro: Great evening meals - three courses every evening. If you have a food allergy, the manager on the night will speak to you every evening to sort your dinner. Pro: Location! Great spot, out of the way of the business of Sorrento. The hotel run a shuttle bus service every hour which was so handy for us! Pro: We checked in late to the hotel - we emailed ahead and they sorted a plate of food for us to have at midnight. Con: We did email in advance to share the news it was our honeymoon. On the Tui website, it says for special occasions, a complimentary bottle of fizz will be placed in the room. This didn't happen - we were quite disappointed! Con: The pool was cold and it does shut at 6pm. After a day of sight-seeing/ traveling, we'd of loved to have spent some more time by the pool. Con: Our bedroom was located above the reception so we were woken up every morning around 4am-5am with delivery vans. Not very relaxing for your holiday. Con: The mattress and pillows were sadly rock hard. The shower was old and sprayed water everywhere. In summary, I would recommend this hotel but I wouldn't stay again because the target audience was quite a lot older than ourselves so we found the evenings lacking so we did pop into Sorrento for the night life via the shuttle bus. The decor is also very traditional (not a problem) but not my taste either. The breakfast was okay but having toast and scrambled egg every morning was lacking. The staff were so friendly and very generous, nothing was a problem, especially being gluten free, we both felt looked after and happy! We both had a lovely honeymoon. :)
