We had the most incredible week in Sorrento! The staff at the hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and made sure we were looked after without being overbearing. They made sure we were aware of all the excursions they offered without being pushy or trying too hard to encourage us to spend extra. The hotel itself offered a lovely view over the Bay of Naples from our room and provided a regular free shuttle service into the centre of Sorrento. The shuttle drop off point was only a short walk from the train station, which was perfect for taking a trip to Pompeii, itself an extraordinary place that's well worth taking a whole day to see. There's also a bus stop a short walk from the hotel (albeit one that's slightly confusingly marked and in the middle of the road) which is used by buses going to Positano and further along the Amalfi coast. Fair warning - this bus was not for the faint-hearted who are used to English transport safety standards, but provided a great story once we arrived at our beautiful destination in one piece! Considering the strong 30° Italian sunshine that was ever-present for our entire stay, we really loved being able to go for a swim in the afternoon and lounge around poolside with a drink (the price of drinks was not ridiculous and comparable to most bars/clubs in most cities in England). The huge variety of food provided at the hotel for dinner was of extremely high quality, and it was well-worth paying a little bit more to include it in our holiday package. It completely and utterly exceeded our expectations and really made our evenings special after a long day of exploring. Specifically, the lemon gelato that was served for dessert was one of the best things I have ever tasted. A special note goes to the waiting staff and the Maitre D', Francesco, who made us feel very welcome and made sure we were able to have something to eat and drink before our very early morning transfer for our flight back home. Overall, the Atlantic Palace proved to be the perfect place to stay, and is somewhere that we would wholeheartedly love to return to at some point in the future.

My sister and I have just returned from Sorrento having stayed at the Atlantic Palace Hotel. It is a very nice hotel, the food is very good with lots of choice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. In fact, my sister has a wheat intolerance and follows a gluten free diet. The staff in the restaurant could not do enough to ensure that she was aware of what she could and couldn’t eat. Each morning they served her with cereal and bread and anything else she wanted. It was a top class service. The TUI reps were always on hand and available to provide information and book the tours. The Amalfi, Positana and Ravello tour was excellent through TUI. Special thanks to Vince, the tour guide, whose knowledge of the history of Sorrento was beyond excellent. He can also sing! It’s also worthwhile doing the walking tour as you learn a lot about the area. Although in our case having arrived at the hotel on a Tuesday night, the next available walking tour was not until the Saturday. We had discovered a lot of information about Sorrento by then, but still managed to learn several tips by the time of the walking tour. The courtesy bus was a very good service and we used it the entire time during our stay. We did walk back to the hotel from Sorrento a couple of times. It was a fairly easy walk. You just have to be careful when there are no kerbs and just be aware of the busy traffic. The only negative feedback is that the hotel needs some TLC with regards to the rooms. Our room on the third floor, next door to the gym, was very clean and the cleaners were in every day. However, having arrived late at night it was a bit of a shock the next morning when we opened the balcony doors. The view was very disappointing. Our view was rusty railings opposite and a moss filled wall! Had we been located at the other end of the hotel, the outlook would have been the pool and the beautiful lemon tree garden. Overall, a lovely trip and wouldn’t be put off by the unpleasant room view. Sorrento is stunning. The hotel location is very accessible to the main plaza and as mentioned previously the staff were very nice which makes the whole experience worthwhile. I would definitely return.

A lovely hotel with great staff, and excellent meals. The staff are all friendly, well motivated and extremely helpful, it's a great team. Facilities are good, Nice pool, restaurant, bar. Gym is well kitted out, and there are fitness classes daily, plus guided walks. There's a beautiful outdoor restaurant under a canopy of lemon and orange trees, where lunch, and gala dinners are served. Loved the roast meats, fish and fantastic pizzas, pastas and desserts. Great welcoming touch - we arrived too late for dinner, and found plated salad meals in room ready for us. Very thoughtful. The site is within walking distance of Sorrento (but starts without a pavement). There's also a pre-bookable shuttle service, and a local bus service. Local taxis are expensive, reception arranged for us to use Shuttle bus in between scheduled runs, with a payment to driver (less than taxi costs). With a few improvements, this hotel could easily reach 5 stars: Rooms need to be soundproofed, walls are very thin. Need electronic point of sale system for bars, currently all paper-based, so no way of easily tracking daily spend. Tapwater is not drinkable - bottles are 3 euros each. Would like to see free water dispensers in restaurants, bar, poolside and reception. Pool area needs to be checked daily for cleanliness - sadly guests leave cigarette butts on floor. Pool toilet - paper towel dispensers need to be used instead of piling the towels on top of them. Third spa bath in garden needs to be working. Sunbeds are very hard - need cushions on them, and saw one collapse, leaving a guest with a sore back. Pool bar coffee machine needs fixing. Staff have to go to lounge bar to get hot drinks for guests. Seems to be rationing of room supplies of tea, milk and coffee. Asked for 8 milks, and maid said we could only have 4 per day. Entertainment - need a greater variety of music. Musicians repeated the same songs on different nights. Update the selection to include current hits. A lot of it felt stuck in 1950s and 60s. Add an iron and ironing board to each room.

Tui Blue! well not a lot about Tui has impressed us for a few years now but we did book this at one week's notice and were very surprised how good it was. I know you might say why book when you didn't think Tui were top standards but ... we needed the sun! It was very sunny all week. The staff at this hotel excelled in good service, no frowns just smiles and friendly manner all the time - and that's from breakfast to close of day every day. The food in the dining room was very good - great choices and good quality food at both breakfast and dinner. The egg and pancake station was on the go all the time and when you have fresh lemons to squeeze over, you can't resist. We were staying half board and had lunch in the Lemon Garden each day we were there - everything made to order including pizza and burgers. Twice on our stay this area opened for evening buffet that was superb. Drink prices were ok and we had house wine by the glass for each meal, large measures and only 7Euro. Our first time in Sorrento and we went into town by the free (yes something free from Tui) shuttle bus twice. It may be a nice place but nothing special compared to other Med towns and cities. Very busy walking about, perhaps it's better to go out of season. When in the hotel the pool area is great, never before have we seen so many beds available both here and in the upper garden area where there are three jacuzzi. Each pair of beds has an umbrella. Some have reported that the beds are uncomfortable, well they are not. Towels are provided free. Entertainment was provided in the evenings although there didn't seem too many guests attending - perhaps the evening shuttles to town were the better attraction. The Tui entertainment crew were great with a daytime games, excercise and sampling experiences (alcoholic). On the downside, it is true the hotel is a little tired but it shows. The biggest negative for us was that the A/C did not cool our room enough. The room itself was large and the housekeeping lady on floor two (204) kept it spotless, thank you. The shower was impressive being a double but you really need to provide toiletries at both end, and a face cloth would be handy. The transfer from and to the airport was extremely bad. Two hours each way in heat and the bus is so jerky because of the bumper to bumper traffic, not to mention the kamikaze bike riders weaving in and out. If it wasn't for this journey we would probably go again. I'm pretty sure a private car transfer would be no better. So big thank yous all round to the guys there, all the Francescos, Ferdinandos, Liberato, Tony, Egg/Pizza supremo, Maya, Marie, Henry and Leah and all the rest.
