We booked into this hotel last minute because our originally booked hotel was well below par - this was our last night of our trip and we wanted to treat ourselves, it was WELL worth the switch. Our room was huge, with a big bed, sofa and coffee table and plenty of floor space. The floor itself was stunning with local ceramic tiles. The bathroom was also spacious and well appointed. The balcony was also a really good size with its own sun loungers. The views were sublime! The private beach was not staffed due to the time of year of our visit but still had sun loungers etc out, and it was easy to imagine that there would be a really good atmosphere there in high season. The staff were really friendly and helpful, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We checked out early in the morning and they prepared a take away breakfast for us. We are looking forward to returning in future with more time. Thank you to the whole team for a fantastic stay!

“A stunning hotel, away from the crowds”

I will miss seeing the sunrise over the water from our balcony each morning. Incredible hotel. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. Very clean, great service, restaurant, bar, beach and parking. All away from the crowds everywhere else on the Amalfi cost. Bus stop right out front will get you everywhere. The town of Cetara has water taxi stops, restaurants even little souvenir shops just a short walk from the hotel. Would definitely be my top pick when we come back.

“Dreamy Amalfi hotel”

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. It's built on the side of a cliff, overlooking the beautiful Amalfi Coast. It's located in the town of Cetara, which is a few towns southeast of Positano. We opted to stay here because we wanted to avoid the June crowd and because the price of a suite cost less than a standard room in Positano. The room we booked was stunning. We splurged on the suite that has a private (baby) pool and tanning deck. It did not disappoint. Our suite had beautiful mint green furniture and décor with fabulous tile flooring. As cool as it was to have our private pool, the best part of the room was the view of the Amalfi Coast from the balcony. Just striking. One thing to note-- this type of suite is on a lower level and the room seems to be built into the rocks which gives the room a bit of damp and cave-like feel. It didn't bother us too much because the everything else about the room was comfortable and clean but it's worth sharing. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. We had lunch by the private beach and dinner at the hotel restaurant. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Although the hotel has a gym, it is very small (1 treadmill) and in the summer, it gets very hot (the AC was not working when we worked out). The sauna also has limited hours. But there really is not a need for these amenities when you have the Mediterranean Sea within reach. The location of the hotel is about a 7 minute walk to the town of Cetara. There are no sidewalks, you walk along a very narrow and windy shoulder of the Amalfi Drive. It feels sketchy but the drivers are mostly local so they are well-versed in how to navigate pedestrians. I believe Hotel Cetus does offer a shuttle into the town. Once you get to the town, you can take a ferry to the other towns along the Amalfi Coast (Positano, Amalfi, Minori, and Maiori) If you are planning a trip to the Amalfi Coast and would prefer nicer accommodations for a better price (and to avoid crowds), I would recommend this hotel. You will likely want to take the ferry to the other towns as the town of Cetara is quite small (charming but small). We personally enjoyed staying in Cetara because there are more locals here and less of the hustle and bustle of tourism but we also did not mind taking the 1-hour ferry ride to Positano for a day of shopping and sightseeing.
