My wife and I spent 5 nights at Open Gate in Praiano. We wish we could have spent more time at this lovely family run hotel. Pasquale, Daniella and the rest of the family involved could not have done more for us. They did everything and more to make our experience unforgettable. The room was spacious and immaculate! Our view of the sea was stunning and we enjoyed our outdoor terrace. It’s a great place to schedule days trips to Ravallo, Positano and Amalfi. Enjoyed returning to Praiano to relax with fewer tourists. We always enjoyed their morning breakfast and had some delicious dinner as well. When we come back we’ll stay at Hotel Open Gate! Thanks again for the great time!

“Superb Praiano Hotel - walking from Marina di Praia and St. Gennaro church area”

Owners/General: There are a million great things I can say about this hotel. My partner and I stayed for six nights (15-22 Sep, 2024) in a first floor room (what we in the US would call the 2nd floor). The employees - siblings Pasquale and Daniela, plus Sonia (mornings in the restaurant) and sister Stefania (evenings in the restaurant) made us feel like we were staying in their home in how attentive, friendly, and helpful they were. Pasquale and Daniela answered all our questions and arranged for anything we needed at any time. I can't say enough great things about them. I was actually sad to leave them, how often can you say this about a hotel?? Rooms: The rooms are gorgeous and spacious, each with beautiful Italian tile rooms and balconies facing the sea, which is often shimmering into the horizon with ferries and boats constantly criss crossing your line of sight. It feels like a dream. We stayed in a corner room (Room 26) with a queen and twin bed, with spacious ocean facing balcony that had a little table and two chairs plus two cushioned loungers where you can lie down at night and listen to the ocean sounds. The room had A/C, a closet, a safe, two nightstands, and a desk. The bathroom was spacious, with a shower and hair dryer. Everything in this hotel is new, clean, and beautifully designed. Location: Even though the hotel is located right on busy Via Roma, the doors are noice-cancelling, so you can't hear anything. We had no problem sleeping (there's also a lot less traffic at night). Plus, it's got a central Praiano location, and you walk on Via Roma/Amalfi Drive to get to the beach, 'downtown' Praiano, other restaurants, or take the bus on this road - so the location is super convenient. (Btw, highly recommend Il Pirata restaurant down close to the Marina di Praia beach, it's a can't miss in my opinion!) Food: We had an incredible spread for breakfast every morning (scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes, cheeses, salamis, croissants, a wide variety of baked items, fruit, fruit salad, like 5 differnt types of juices including peach, my favorite, etc.) - and everything looks and tastes homemade! <-- This is not an overstatement. The hotel restaurant is also delicious, with a varied menu. We ate dinner there twice during our stay, and noticed that many others come from other places to dine there. You can't beat the vibe and the view! I highly recommend the restaurant. If I ever make it back to the Amalfi Coast, I'm staying at the Hotel Open Gate again! Thank you so very, very much for making our stay unforgettable, Pasquale, Daniela, Sonia, and Stefania! p.s. being an LGBTQ+ couple, my partner and I were never made to feel anything but welcome in this hotel and in the Amalfi Coast in general.

“Super”

Very good hotel with excellent food and excellent service. Beautiful sea view from the room. There is a bus stop at the hotel and another bus stop is located close to the hotel. The rooms and the entire hotel are very clean. The room has a comfortable bed and TV. About 15 minutes walk from the hote… more

“Wonderful stay”

Beautiful view ,good food, 10 min walk to a public beach , there is a public bus stop at the door of the hôtel to bring you to Amalfi and Positano for 1.80$. No need to use your car.
