The Villa Delle Palme Hotel in Positano was amazing!!! Excellent, excellent hotel!!! We arrived early and were greeted by Giuliana and her wonderful staff! She told us there were no worries and proceeded to check if our rooms were ready. She also stated that we were free to sit inside the reception area or the porch area. She then told us there was lemon water and fresh fruit for us on a countertop and said that we must be tired because we traveled all morning. Turns out our rooms were ready which was at 1:20 pm. We were free to go to them. Giuliana said she wanted to give us a little bit of information first before we settled in and then after we unpacked and when we were ready, she would provide us with maps and other information for our stay. The minute we met her my entire family felt like we were with one of our relatives and in their home. Not everyone can make you feel like you’ve always known them, and this woman did. We did go to our rooms, settled in, and then Giuliana told us about the area, provided us with the maps and any other information we might need. She also recommended restaurants that were all close by. In the evening we met Manuela. Like Giuliana, Manuela was warm, kind, friendly, welcoming; just the nicest person you could imagine!!! Again, all five of us felt like we met our long lost cousin or bumped into a dear friend. Not many hotels make you feel like you’re at home, but these two women certainly did. Every time we returned from our day of excursions or sightseeing Manuela would always say to us ‘welcome home’ and asked us how our day was. After the first day, we were literally telling these two women where we were going and what we were doing and they were always excited for us and provided us many times with helpful tidbits of information that could make our traveling a bit easier. They always had a smile on their faces. They were gracious, kind and endearing and the hotel was amazing!!! Both rooms that we booked were clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and had everything we could possibly need. We had plush towels for the bathroom and enormous, plush towels for the beach. Not many hotels give you towels for the beach! The beds were extremely comfortable, the linens were excellent, the curtains, the decor, all of it was just beautiful. The hotel itself makes you feel like you are in someone’s home. But a very grand home! The breakfast at the hotel was amazing. The service was excellent. The people were warm, friendly, and incredibly gracious. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience there. But I will say it was extremely difficult to leave, :( because we felt such an attachment to the place and to the people. We did not want to leave!!! We did not request housekeeping, however, housekeeping was so kind and sweet that many mornings they would come and just check to see if we wanted our towels changed out or if we needed anything. They said they felt a little guilty, not coming in and doing their regular housekeeping in our room daily. Each member of the staff was kind, courteous, smiling, and always willing to check if we needed anything. All the rooms have an incredible view of the water. The rooms either have a patio, a deck, or a balcony. We sat outside a lot, and the view was absolutely breathtaking! If I could go here every year, I absolutely would, or do it more than once a year. It is an excellent hotel and the management is superb! The best time and experience of our 4 city trip to Italy.

“Overall Great Experience”

Stayed at this hotel with friends towards the end of trip. Loved how easy it was for our car was able to drop us off at the top of the hill and we just walked about a minute to entrance of the hotel. Stayed at this hotel with friends towards the end of trip. Loved how easy it was for our car was able to drop us off at the top of the hill and we just walked about a minute to entrance of the hotel. The only reason I gave this hotel a 4 star is because the breakfast is very lacking. I wish the selection was a bit bigger, or varied from day to day, but I guess it is what it is. The size of the room was great for 3 of us (one queen size bed and one twin size bed). Keep in mind when booking that this hotel is a trek from the beach, it takes about 30 minutes to walk down the road, or about 15 minutes if you take the steps straight down to the beach. Overall, would stay again, but would keep these things in mind if bringing kids.

“Nice location clean on a budget but the owner should let the staff deal with the customers”

First the positives the hotel is a great budget hotel, good location, very clean, lovely staff and we had a great view from our balcony. They have a restaurant attached to the hotel which is very nice for lunch and we had arrived early so took up the offer of lunch as we waited for our luggage. The lunch was lovely and the service was excellent. The negatives really started with the owner she had been chatting to us and perhaps unsurprisingly was keen that we ate in their restaurant (which we had) and the restaurant along the road they also own which we decided against. We told her we were eating at Il Tridente and going for drinks at Francos which she sold us were over hyped and a waste of money. Both were excellent by the way so don’t miss them on your trip. The next day it got worse, the weather had turned so no ferries were leaving Positano to go to Capri. We were told we were basically stranded but out of the kindness of the owner we could keep our room for the night. On speaking to our hotel in Capri we were told that the ferry’s were running from Sorrento so just get there and come over. She told us we would never get a taxi and when the girl on reception offered to call one for us she took the book from her and said “No he can call one himself” and have me the taxi book. I called the first taxi and they came and go us and took us to Sorrento no problem. I get that it is a small family run hotel but we are on honeymoon and wanted to experience other restaurants and bars in Positano not just theirs and also the inference that it was a near impossibility to get to Capri was a little underhand. That aside though we had a pleasant enough stay.
