Hotel Ikaros matched the offer, some things even exceeded our expectations. The location of the hotel was well located and at the same time, you could not hear the noise from the clubs in the nearby street. The beach was only a 5 minute walk away and there are plenty of shops and restaurants along the way. Caretta Caretta turtles also hatch in the morning on the nearby beach (beautiful experience). The food at the hotel was tasty and there was something different to choose from every day. The only thing we would appreciate is a larger offer of desserts (only one for dinner). The food was good for an undemanding clientele. The rooms were cleaned every day, the towels were changed and all the service was fine. The air conditioning and the fridge worked well, the only thing we have to complain about is the absence of chairs on the balcony. The pool was clean, free sunbeds and umbrellas. The bar by the pool was sufficient, the all-inclusive price also included selected alcoholic beverages (ouzo, beer, wine, vodka). The bar service is very pleasant and professional, after all, like the entire hotel staff. Good experience and definitely recommended. Don't be put off by the bad reviews if you are an undemanding client who wants to explore the island and is looking for accommodation with a good price/quality ratio.

Let me tell you about the staff. They were incredibly friendly, almost suspiciously so! You walk in, and they’re already chatting away as if you’ve been best friends for years. They were ready for everything: 'Need help? Want a laugh? Fancy a cup of tea?' They absolutely loved a good chat. It felt like staying in a hotel run by your mum. Shout-outs to Panos and Nikos, two of the staff members who were especially welcoming, chatty, and helpful throughout our stay. They truly made the experience even more enjoyable. The room was clean, which is always a good start, and the beds were really comfortable. It was like sinking into a cloud, if clouds came with top-quality air conditioning. The air con worked so well that at one point I actually thought I might need a jacket in bed. I mean, why pay for a holiday in the sun when your room feels like the Arctic? There was no safe in the room, which was a bit of a concern. They did have safes available, but only in the foyer. I would have much preferred one in my room to keep personal items secure. As for the balcony, we had a partial view of the pool, which was nice if you squinted. But I could also see the car park, and since I had rented a car, I didn’t mind at all. There was always space for my car, which was a relief since the car park was never full. I found myself thinking, 'There’s my pool! There’s my car!' Two views for the price of one. The bathroom, though, was tiny. The door was so close to the toilet that if you closed it too quickly, you might end up sitting down whether you intended to or not. The shower was on the same level as the rest of the bathroom, so water went everywhere. Every time I used it, the place turned into a mini flood zone. But the cleaners were amazing. They swooped in like ninjas and mopped up after every one of my aquatic disasters. I had heard the hotel was due for renovations in 2025, which is great because it did feel like it needed a bit of updating. Now, there was no kettle in the room, which as a Brit, felt like a near-crime. But don’t worry! There was a drinks station near the canteen where you could grab a hot or cold drink whenever you wanted. The fridge in the room was also a highlight, being big enough for four large bottles of water. That felt like pure luxury. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but we did have drinks at the bar, and it was nice. The beer was good, although one night my pint was flat, which was a bit disappointing. There was also a pool table, but oddly enough, there was no chalk. Turns out, some previous guests had swiped it. The standard holiday bar vibe was there: relaxed, with a bit of people-watching thrown in for good measure. We also saw other guests eating at the canteen, and I have to say, the food looked pretty good. The hotel itself is in a great location, between Laganas and Kalamaki. A short taxi ride gets you to Kalamaki, and there are plenty of friendly bars and restaurants nearby, perfect for a quick bite. Finally, I have to tell you about my little mishap with a statue. One day, I was walking down the stairs, completely unaware, and I walked straight into the statue at the bottom. It almost toppled over! Panos thought it was hilarious and couldn’t stop laughing. From that moment on, every time he saw me, he gave me a cheeky grin. I think I became 'Statue Guy' in his eyes. Brilliant.
