“Great stay, perfect for kids.”

Really happy with the ground floor swim up room. It meant the kids could jump straight into the pool from their patio. The staff were very friendly and we were generally pretty happy with all the food options on offer. The waterpark was fun and there's plenty for the kids to be doing.

I stayed here with my wife and 2 kids (12 & 9) for 1 week in October. Check in - you essentially check in yourself using an app and then go to the reception to collect your key. Our room wasn't ready at the time however your all inclusive starts immediately so we were able to go and get some lunch while we waited. Rooms - we had a duplex room which was a double bedroom downstairs and a twin bedroom upstairs. There was no separate living area which would have been nice but not essential as we were only really in the room for sleeping and getting ready to go out. Both rooms had a balcony. Food - (Main buffet restaurant) serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. A decent amount of choice to see you through 1 week but began to get very samey samey by day 5/6. Breakfast had all the usual cooked items as well as cereals, breads, cakes and pastries. Lunch and dinner always had soups, grilled meats and plenty salad choices and cakes. There is a small kids section which usually had chicken nuggets (questionable) and pasta and chips. Not a great selection for fussy eaters. (Greek Grill buffet restaurant) serves dinner only. I found the food here better quality but there was no choice for fussy kids. (Snack bar) open between 11-6 every day. This was the savior for our kids serving pizza, hotdogs, chips etc. My kids would fill up here most days knowing there wouldn't be much for them in the evening buffets. They also do chicken gyros which are excellent. here are some tables and chairs where you can sit and eat outside but most people just took food back to there loungers to eat there. There is also an ice cream bar serving basic flavours which is open most of the day. (Italian a-la-carte) we ate here once and food was fine but nothing special. It was nice being served food to your table after having buffet food all week. Pools - There are multiple pools dotted around the complex. The centre of the complex has the main pool and also a shallow pool which is used for beach volley ball etc. There are other pools located next to other blocks only a minutes walk away from reception. There is a small waterpark joint onto the hotel which is really good. 5 or 6 decent slides, a wave pool and the slowest lazy river i've ever been on. The biggest disappointment was the temperature of the water. Every pool had ice cold water which you think you will get used to after 5/10 mins but you don't. It was a real shame as kids didnt spend nearly as much time as they wanted to in the water. Everyone we spoke to said the same thing. The weather was great when we were there, 22-25 every day and sun on the pools all day but the water temp did not get any better. We didn't struggle to find sun loungers but in the middle of busy summer I could imagine it would be pretty hectic. Evening entertainment - there is a kids disco on around 7.30/8 for an hour which is aimed at kids 6 and under then there is adult entertainment on from 9.15 till 10.30. A couple of nights there was something half decent to watch but most nights it was pretty cringe. There is a small fun fair type place beside the entertainment area which was fine. A few games machines as well as a large bouncy castle area for younger kids. There is also a trampoline area. This all costs etc but isn't too expensive. There is also a shop selling candy floss and crepes. It was pretty chilly in the evenings, most people had jumpers and trousers on. Facilities - There is allegedly a gym (never saw it) and a spa which my wife used and loved. 45 euro for an hours massage is a pretty decent price I thought. There is also a kids club which we didn't use. Location - The hotel is only a 10 min transfer from the airport which is really handy. There is a local beach about 15/20 min walk away but believe there is also a free shuttle bus which leaves from the hotel a couple of times per day. A few mins walk from the hotel is a street filled with restaurants, bars, shops and pharmacy's so if you get fed up with the all-inclusive there are options. Highly recommend a meal at Pandesia. Tues and Sat they have there "Greek" night which includes dancing, plate smashing and oozo drinking! It was a great night. We also took a 10 min taxi to Zante town. It was nice for an afternoon out although pretty quiet this time of year but has some nice restaurants and bars etc. Overall I would recommend this hotel, the only real let down was the pool temperatures which I assume would be less of an issue in the height of summer.

Transfer from airport was no problem, arrived at hotel within 20 mins check in was easy enough and rooms were ready. We were in block A so great location for pools, restaurants and water park, not so great if you want to be asleep before 11pm (yes I know we are on holiday) and want to be woken by the cleaning staff under your window at 8am. There also is no Do not Disturb/Make up my room signs for the door. Water park doesn't open till 10:30 am, which is great as that means there is no sunbed hogging. Most blocks looked like they had their own pool Rooms are ok, our bed was firm (hard and creeked 🙄) pillows are also very firm. There's plenty of storage, shower over bath (but no plug) . Telephone wasn't working and didn't see anywhere to plug it into. Seems as if the curtains had been removed and just the lining left up in readiness for the hotel closing for the season No issues with room not been cleaned, however they do tell you they won't remove any glasses from room or clean the cups. Bedding and towels changed ever couple of days No thefts either We all stayed free from illness also Most staff friendly however 1 of the bar staff was particularly unpleasant, can't name him as another thing that was obvious was no members of staff wore name badges. Restaurant is very basic, and I mean basic , to the point my grandchildren actually said, I can't eat anymore pizza, or chicken nuggets and chips. We are by no means fussy eaters either (not sure if it was because end of season) but we managed just to find something, even if it was from the kids menu most nights. Pool bar was good for snack food, pizza, chicken nuggets, etc and Ice cream. Drinks are ok if you don’t have ice in them or at least my vodka was. We were unable to use the main restaurant a couple of nights and had to use the Greek Grill Restaurant this was due to the hotel hosting wedding receptions which went on till 6am when someone witnessed the last guest leaving 🙈 Hotel closes for the season 2nd November. Beach is 15 minutes walk away , we ate at the Kalamaki Beach bar, €62 for 5 of us including drinks. After 4 nights of restaurant food we ate at the Pandesia restaurant which for a caraf of red wine 3 soft drinks and a vodka and lemonade plus 5 mains for a little over €120 was good value for 5 people. Will I come back it's a NO, will I recommend NO.

Cons The rooms themselves were a bit tatty and very small bathroom Beds though were comfortable apart from my child’s single who complained it was too hard. Food horrible , same for lunch / dinner and just very poor quality / cheap/ no effort. Fresh fruit every day was just the same bruised apples/ some cut up over ripe melon and tinned fruit. The salad section wasn’t much better either. Soft Drinks - all flat and sugary Beer - flat and tasted horrible Spirits / cocktails don’t bother. Most staff ok but some are very miserable and don’t even acknowledge you. This is not a 4 star hotel as the service and food / drink is the worst I have come across. Pros Good location short drive from airport and short walk to shops/ restaurants/beach Pools nice but water very cold. Water park ok but needs some updating We stayed in F block which was probably the best location to be fair. Other rooms are directly in the busy parts and would have had little privacy or peace. Love Zante but would not stay here again
